The Marketing Manager will be directly responsible for developing and executing consumer and dealer marketing and attendance-building initiatives; and for developing and executing B2B communications and brand awareness in order to facilitate exhibit space and sponsorship sales for the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo), held annually in October in Orlando, FL, as well as related conferences and events.
This includes managing all marketing initiatives from conception through production and distribution phases. The Marketing Manager ensures that all marketing projects move from one point to the next within deadline schedules, oversees all aspects of marketing jobs throughout the entire project management cycle. This is done while integrating with the Marketplace Events marketing team and working closely with the AIMExpo team and external agencies and partners.
Responsibilities:
Consumer/Dealer Marketing:
Assists show team in all aspects of securing and working with outside vendors including: media buyers, PR agencies, graphic designers, printers, advertising production, web hosting etc.
Manages all aspects of the website with input from show team
Works with media buyer to develop media buy for each show, ensuring best practices are followed
Works with PR agency to develop PR plan for each show, ensuring best practices are followed
Organizes, leads and participates in, along with media buyer, PR agency and show manager, all media promotional meetings with local media, to develop attendance-driving promotions, features and media sponsors for each show
Manages and develops strategy for all digital marketing and social media
Makes recommendations (along with PR agency) for potential show features or celebrity/expert appearances to drive attendance
Develops copy and oversees creative and production of all show advertising maintaining a consistent look and feel
Develops copy, oversees production and distributes all attendee emails
Oversees trafficking of all paid and promotional media with media buyer
Assists show team in building of opt-in e-database both onsite and on show website
Assists show team in development and implementation of online advance ticket sales including social deals and through strategic partners
Tracks advance sales vs. prior year and executes last minute promotions, discount ticket offers when sales fall behind prior year
Assists in development of sponsorship proposals where media inclusion is requested
Creates methods by which marketing initiatives may be tracked and tested, whenever possible.
Manages all issues related to CAN-SPAM and ensures compliance in all communications
Oversees and distributes consumer and exhibitor online surveys, tracks results and presents key data to show team
Compiles and provides detailed reports annually to show team including top URL referrers to show website; web stat analysis; attendee zip code analysis; etc.
Provides content on our consumer marketing strategy and often presents at Exhibitor Training programs held annually in prior to each show (usually 50-200 in exhibitors/prospects in attendance)
Codes, approves and processes all media invoices
B2B/Exhibitor Marketing:
Assists show team in securing and working with outside vendors including: photographers, printers, mail house, etc.
Works with each show team to develop exhibit sales & marketing budget
Using show content provided from show team, develops copy and oversees creative and production of all exhibitor marketing pieces maintaining a consistent look and feel
Works with show team to compile, develop copy, and produce Post-show Report
Become the voice of the brand. Edit, proof, and rewrite communications written by others prior to distribution.
Collaborate with designer; serve as creative director
Develops copy, oversees production and distributes all exhibitor and prospect marketing emails
Oversee exhibitor survey distribution and collection, interpretation of data for each show
Assists show team in building of exhibitor and prospect opt-in e-database
Manages all issues related to CASL and ensures compliance in all communications
Develop and execute new methodologies, tools and vehicles that enhance the marketing campaign and further differentiate our shows
Skills + Experience:
Thrives in incredibly fast-paced environment; able to meet tight deadlines and short turn-around times
A college/university degree in advertising, marketing, journalism or related field
Minimum 5+ years proven experience manager level or above; preferably with an advertising agency or consumer-related products/services
Proficient copywriting skills (writing samples will be required)
Keen eye for compelling creative; ability to art direct
Media buying experience preferred
Experience in the Powersports or related industry preferred
Exceptional customer service focus/skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills—internally and externally
Great negotiation and analytical skills
Proven proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access; additional marketing database programs helpful
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to evaluate, prioritize various tasks/projects to ensure their timely and accurate completion
