The 2014 Daytona 200 runs this afternoon but for this edition of the Weekend Awesome video of the week, we’re taking a look at another famed track known for its banked oval course: Spain’s ghost circuit, the Autodromo Sitges-Terramar.
Located outside of Barcelona, the Sitges-Terramar circuit was constructed to host the 1923 Spanish Grand Prix auto race. The 1.242-mile oval track is notable for its corners banked 60-degrees, making Daytona International Speedway’s 32-degree bank look fairly mundane. The circuit is in remarkable condition considering it has been mostly idle since the ’50s, making it an intriguing choice for Yamaha Motor Europe to film a new promotion video for its MT-07 starring MotoGP racing brothers Pol and Aleix Espargaró.
The brothers take the new 689cc naked Twin out for a spin on the abandoned track, making for some breathtaking visuals on the 60-degree curves.

Their acting at the end of the video might be a bit stilted, but it sure looked like they had fun on the oval.
