THE $184,00 HONDA PRODUCTION BIKE: 2016 RC213V-S
Are you ready to pay $184,000 for a 2016 Honda?
Well, Honda thinks that someone is willing to fork over that kind of cash to buy a 2016 Honda RC213V-S. It is is powered by a 90-degree, V4, 999cc engine with titanium connecting rods and a sand-cast aluminum crankcase. This is, in essence, a road-going version of Honda’s MotoGP bike. Among the components transferred directly from the race bike are the swingarm, slipper clutch, magnesium 17-inch Marchesini wheels, pressurized Ohlins fork and Brembo brake components. The RC213V-S boasts throttle-by-wire, selectable power modes, engine-brake control, traction control and position-detection technology. Honda has its own website for people who want to order one at www.RC213V-S.com. The ordering time period starts ay 3:00 p.m. (Pacific) on July 12, 2015, and ends on September 30.

At the 2015 Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MHOF) Induction Ceremony on June 18, Ricky Carmichael will join Walker Evans, Mark Martin, Tommy Kendall, Duke Nalon, Lloyd Ruby and NHRA’s Warren Johnson on the 2015 inductee list. Previous motocross inductees into the Detroit-based Motorsports Hall of Fame of America include Roger DeCoster, Bob Hannah, Ricky Johnson, Brad Lackey, Jeremy McGrath, Jeff Ward and Malcolm Smith. The evening’s emcee will be former sports car racer David Hobbs.

Jammin’ Jimmy Weinert had more personality in his little finger than every rider on the National circuit today. He told jokes, pulled pranks, permed his hair, sang songs about his competition and won the 1974-75 AMA 500 National Championships and the 1976 AMA Supecross Championship.

RACING ON THE BIG ISLAND WITH THE 808 MX ASSOCIATION
“Uncle” Mike Murray and Phil Oveland. Oveland, a former CZ World Champion and AMA Pro, is the President of the 808 MX club.
SoCal racer Mark Hall took a break from racing at home to go to Hawaii and, well… go to a race. Mark went to the 808 MX Association on the Big Island. The track, located near Hilo on the windward (wet) side of the island, is on 90 acres of land donated by the county right next to a 1/4-mile paved drag strip, oval dirt car track and a kart track. The county also donates excess top soil and mulch from various projects that a small group of volunteers mix in to the track surface. Former AMA National Pro Phil Oveland (right) and Uncle Mike Murray run the club and hold 10 races a year. The track is open for riding on most weekends.
Since it rains almost every day, the starting pad is concrete.
Don’t you wish that the pits at your local track were as nice and grassy as the one on Hawaii’s Big Island. Oahu, Maui and Kauai all have their own tracks and once a year racers from all the Hawaiian islands gather at one track (it changes each year) for the State Championship.
If the pits are grassy, then why wouldn’t the track be surrounded by grass also? The 808 club would like to expand the Hilo track to include different tracks tracks for Vets, kids and quads.
Mark Hall had a great time in Hawaii, especially when he found out that the concession stand sold deep-fried PB&J sandwiches and Twinkies.
