On Friday January 3, 2014 at the Nitro Circus Live show in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Bruce Cook was injured attempting the world’s first double front flip on a dirt bike. Bruce underwent surgery the following day to repair a broken T-11 vertebrae.  He also suffered broken ribs and damage to his spinal cord resulting in paralysis from the waist down. After a short stay in Hamilton he was transported to a hospital closer to home in British Columbia. Once able, Bruce will continue his recovery at a rehabilitation center that focuses on spinal cord injuries.

Bruce and his family are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from all his fans and fellow athletes. He loves receiving all the encouraging messages on his Facebook page www.facebook.com/

and truly believes in the power of smiles and positive thinking.

Bruce has always been a positive and inspiring person to be around and this attitude remains with him now. He understands that this will be a long road ahead, but with his strength, determination and immense support from family, friends and fans he is confident he will overcome this setback.
