I grew up in the flat lands, so being able to hike in the mountains was always an oooh-ahhh moment for me. My husband, Jeff, and I have developed an appreciation for this great canvas God has given us to explore. We decided early on that we wanted to instill this love of the outdoors in our daughters, so we try to get out as much as possible. One of our favorite places to go is Roberts Regional Recreation Area.  It’s part of the Redwood Regional Park in the Oakland Hills, which represents the largest remaining stand of redwoods in the East Bay. This park is filled with kid-friendly trails covered in amazing redwoods, slugs and an array of beautiful foliage. One of the best parts about this Park: it has a park. Located at the main gates off Skyline Boulevard is a fantastic playground and picnic area. We love to come to this place to take a hike, have some grub, and get all that toddler energy out at the playground. We even had our oldest daughter’s birthday party there last year. If you love the outdoors, pick any beautiful Bay day, and head to Roberts Regional Recreation Area. You won’t be disappointed!
