THURSDAY, FEB. 5, 2015:

The Australian Bee Gees recreate the life the music of the Gibb brothers (“Stayin’ Alive,” “How Deep Is Your Love,”  “You Should Be Dancing” ) at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown at 8 pm. Tickets: $29-$59.  At 100 South St. Call 973-539-8008.

FRIDAY, FEB. 6:

The Minstrel in Morris Township presents its annual Valentine’s Day Extravaganza — a musical love party featuring the Folk Project’s all-star members–at 8 pm.  Admission: $12  for this Folk Project fundraiser; special desserts and refreshments at no extra charge. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

The Chatham Community Players present Larry Kramer’s “The Normal Heart,” to benefit Morristown-based New Jersey AIDS Services, at 8 pm. Also on Saturday, same time.  Tickets: $25 for an unreserved seat ($5 tax deductible) and $50 for a reserved seat ($30 tax deductible). Tickets can be purchased at their Box Office or online.  A  light reception follows both shows.  At 23 North Passaic Ave.

In the Mood,  a 1940s musical revue, revisits Swing Era music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, The Andrews Sisters and more, performed by a big band orchestra, singers and dancers, at 8 pm in the Mayo Performing Arts Center. SATURDAY, FEB. 7:

Superhero Events is staging a charity 4K to benefit displaced victims of last week’s Elm Street fire.  The run/ walk starts at the Morristown Running Company on South Street at 9 am. The fee is $5, an organizers say all proceeds will go to the victims. Participants also will get a “vintage” Superhero tech tee shirt.

The Morris Plains Cooperative Play School hosts an open house from 9 am to 11 am, at 8 Cleveland Ave. Call 516-761-2438.

Sink your teeth into a Chocolate Festival at the Morris Museum in Morris Township, from 11 am to 4 pm.  And catch Alice in Wonderland at the Bickford Theatre while you’re there.  Tickets: Free for members; $7/child, $10/adult for non-members. Men and Gargoyles (teen boys) from the choirs at Grace Church Madison will join members of Harmonium Choral Society in a male voices Evensong  at 5 pm at Grace Church, 4 Madison Ave. at Kings Road, Madison. The short candlelight service is free and will feature the music of Wood, Jones, Chesnokov and congregational hymns. For a donation, you can enjoy an English pub dinner afterward. The Orion String Quartet will be joined by Tara Helen O’Connor, flute, and Ida Kavafian, violin and viola, at Drew University  at 8 pm,  for a program featuring the works of Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, and Boccherini. Complexions Contemporary Ballet comes to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm. The Spirit of the Human Family will be celebrated in art at Temple B’nai Or.

The Spirit of the Human Family will be celebrated with an art exhibition at Morristown’s Temple B’Nai Or.   The reception runs from 2 pm to 5 pm. It’s the third annual exhibition at the temple, at 60 Overlook Road behind the Thomas Jefferson School. Co-sponsored by the temple and Morris Arts, the show will benefit Homeless Solutions Inc.  Temple member Amy Herbitter will perform on guitar, and these artists will be on hand to discuss their work: Pete Byron, photography; Lauren Curtis, photography and digital collage, 35mm; Julie Freidman, pastel; Freya Gervasi, alabaster sculpture; Irit Malinsky, painting; Cathleen McCoy Bristol, acrylic painting; Nancy Ori, photography; Lorraine Robertson, oil painting; Roslyn Rose, photographic montage; Lois Sanders, watercolor and acrylic painting; Linda Streicher, oil on canvas and wood; Theresa Tomeo, watercolor; Marianne Trent, mixed media; and Wolfgang Whittling, photographic montage. “It’s Love” – A Valentine’s Day Cabaret featuring Jim Fredericks and June Van Thoen.

Get in the mood for Valentine’s Day with a Cabaret Tea at the Morristown United Methodist Church at 4 pm.  Jim Fredericks and June Van Thoen will perform classic love songs, and desserts and tea will be served.
