Third time’s the charm, right? These VNTS posts are getting easier to do each week. A lot of the work is building the template code and finding a solid workflow, and I think I’ve got both down. 「I won’t comment here every time, but this week, I shall serena… whatever, anyway, this is Zaka.
Tay was unavailable for the whole Anime Boston announcements thing, so I stepped in, cried briefly at the various manual text editing involved, then anal-retentively changed various things he missed (and VN names, we don’t have to keep the same low standard a certain other outlet uses.) These changes may or may not prove persistent, presumably he’ll be hating on some of the changes… anyway.
The Reject Demon: Toko is really annoying because I keep writing it Toko: The Reject Demon and writing it the other way feels really wrong. Myth is one of the best-regarded doujin VNs out there apparently. The circle responsible actually put it up on Greenlight, saying they were looking to have it localized. It was then greenlit… and today, it turns out MangaGamer nabbed the license. Well played.
The various extra features for MangaGamer’s re-release of Higurashi look pretty cool. While there was originally much talk of separate new/old sprites releases, it seems you can now toggle them in-game whenever you want… not sure exactly how it will all work out. You can toggle between English and Japanese on-the-fly (similar feature exists in Nekopara and fault, though only Nekopara had that thing where it showed both at once. Pity Nekopara didn’t have a translation you’d want to use to learn Japanese…)
MG will be releasing everything from the next to latest version of Higurashi, Higurashi Hou. There is actually a newer version despite MG talking about Hou being the definitive version so that one’s debateable. Said new version (Higurashi Sui) would be pretty incompatible with what MangaGamer’s doing though, because it’s a. on the Vita/PS3 and b. has choices, not chapters. Hou still has a lot of content that wasn’t in their original release, and stuff like the original BGM, etc etc will be in. All in all pretty delicious nevertheless.
Bunny Black’s a gameplay VN, apparently the translator (Aroduc) hates it for some reason. But still translated it. I don’t know, man. Comes from the rapey, high amounts of sex traditon if vndb’s anything to go by.
On Free Friends: they are nukige, you may or may not enjoy this. Translator said she’d start tl of Free Friends 2 on “this Wednesday” on March 30th, but there’s no real confirmation. Thus the parentheses.
I think Sekai Project’s going to do a panel at Sakura-Con tomorrow (the 5th), let’s see what that will bring.」

Correction 04/4: Onikakushi will be released May 15, not April 15. Bunny Black 2 tl is not actually started, Aroduc’s working on something else. Since you’re looking, there’s a demo out for the Japanese version of fault -milestone two- if you’re interested.
