When I was asked to create my own dream tasting menu, I thought long and hard on exactly what it would include. I love seafood, so that would definitely have to feature somewhere, I also enjoy a lot of veggie meals and there’s no way I couldn’t create a dream tasting menu without dessert.
So for starters, I would have to go for a light and delicious seafood dish, Gravalax and prawns with a tasty fresh salad including avocado (I know prawns and avocado are a bit cliche, but I love the combo!) and beetroot.
As I may have mentioned already, fish is a favourite of mine and some of my favourite food has been meals eaten in Italy. Perhaps I could add a little fresh seafood risotto, including tasty scallops in there? I would also love a taste of fresh locally caught mussels in a garlic sauce, mussels are divine and even my two little boys love them. Oh and I would maybe just add in a couple of bites of sushi in here too, I’m definitely partial to a little sushi.
I have talked about a lot of tasty seafood, but I like my veggie meals just as much and a fantastic veggie burger, which is full of flavour without being spicy (I hate spicy food!), alongside some sweet potato fries would be amazing!
Finally my tasting menu has to include chocolate based desserts. It would be brilliant to taste perfectly uniform chocolate mousse and sponge based patisseries, but I would also be happy with a traditional chocolate gateaux or less traditional chocolate beetroot cake. I would definitely have to draw the line at warm chocolate cake, I have never been a fan, I much prefer it cold and filled with mousse or cream, in my mind hot, melted chocolate cakes are just wrong!
