Chapter Twenty-Eight

Jameesha looked at Terrance and said, “It’s over?” “That’s what I said, Jameesha. This shit is just not working for me.” “What the hell do you mean it’s over, Terrance? I’ve been with you for damn near a year. I’ve stood by your side. I’ve been loyal to you. I’ve always tried to make sure that you were right. And you want to sit here and make out to be a bad girlfriend. Really? I had to sit here and watch you work with a woman that you were in a relationship with for five years and you’re telling me that I’m not a good woman.” “Jameesha, you are childish. You have a lot of growing up to do and I can’t be your teacher or your professor. I can only be your man and I just don’t know what the hell I was thinking when I got with you in the first place.” “Oh please. I know exactly what it was. You saw me as a rebound. You were just getting out of a relationship with Sharde and you decided to get with me, despite the fact that I was your best friend’s sister and how much damage that could cause.” “Well if you knew all of that, Jameesha, then why did you continue to get with me then.” “You know what, Terrance? I’m not doing this with you. You are not about to make me feel like I’m not the right woman for you.” “I’m not trying to make you feel anything. The fact of the matter is that you are not the right woman for me. You’re not. I deserve better.” “You deserve better? You know what? Darren told me that you were a punk ass nigga. But I didn’t listen to him. I knew that he would never steer me wrong.” “Yeah Darren. A mothafucka that’s hating on me because I used to fuck his wife long before he got with her. That’s great, Jameesha. But how about this? How about you get the fuck out of my apartment and I’ll drop your shit off over at your house. This is most definitely over at this point.” “Fuck you, Terrance. I don’t want to have anything else to do with you anymore.” Jameesha stormed out and slammed the door. Terrance said, “Stupid bitch.” Jameesha got in the car and she began to cry as she pulled off.

At Rasheeda and Demond’s apartment, Ciara arrived and Rasheeda opened the door for her and Asia ran over to hug her and Ciara said, “Hey Asia. How are you doing?” “Fine.” “Good. Rasheeda, I need to talk to you.” “Okay.” Ciara and Rasheeda walked in the kitchen and Rasheeda said, “What’s up?” “I came by here to give you and Demond the tickets to the shoe launch in Las Vegas. I already booked rooms for everyone and you don’t have to pay for anything, unless you got out and do your own thing.” “Well what about the children?” “Well my mother and father is going to have Jabari and I think Frankie and James wanted to keep Asia.” “Okay, well I can’t wait to see the shoes you have.” “Girl, they’re amazing.”

At Egg Harbor Café, Chandi and Sheena were sitting down having breakfast and Chandi said, “Oh girl. These biscuits, grits, eggs, pancakes and bacon is too good. Oooh and this orange juice. Chile.” “Chandi, girl you’re sitting here acting like you’ve been starving out or something.” “I mean, you can say that much honestly. I just haven’t been eating much since I lost London. It’s been very hard for me these last few weeks.” “Well, luckily, Ciara has a Las Vegas trip in plan for us all to take. You need to have a little fun and look at the shoes that Ciara has in store for us and stuff.” “I’m honestly dreading that damn Las Vegas trip to be quite honest.” “Why is that?” “Well Sheena, we went to Miami about two years ago and all of us were together. I mean, it was me, Ciara, Leslie, Sharde, Rasheeda and Brandi and it was terrible. Nothing but drama, arguing and fighting.” “Oh my God. I remember you calling me about that trip.” ‘Yes, girl. It just didn’t make any sense to me as to why that shit was going on. I came on that trip to have a good time and here comes Sharde and Brandi with their mess. And then Ciara and Rasheeda had their mess. It just wasn’t a good situation at all.” “Well speaking of Rasheeda….” “What about that bitch? Please don’t ruin my appetite, Chandi.” “I’m just saying girl. You know that she’s going to be in Las Vegas with us.” “I know she is and I don’t give a fuck about any of that because I’m going to be there for Ciara and her business. I could care less about Rasheeda and her bullshit. Now I’m going to be calm about it, but if Rasheeda gets in my face, it’s going to be an issue. Like I’m really tired of her and her bullshit.” “I really don’t have time for Rasheeda, Chandi. I’m just dreading running into her while we’re in Las Vegas. I know that Ciara has a dinner party and stuff planned and we are going to be in close quarters. I just really hope she doesn’t try anything.” “Oh I hope she does because I’m not the one to be played with. Honestly. I don’t have time for the bullshit at all.”

At Gabriella and Aiden’s house, Aiden was sitting down thinking about the fact that he told his parents about his cancer and he turned around and found Gabriella walking in the house. Gabriella said, “Hey honey.” “Hey baby. How are you?” “Oh I’m fine. Just had a long day at work. What are you doing?” “Oh I’m not doing anything. I’m just sitting here thinking about life right now and how it could be right now.” “Well that’s a depressing thing to do. I mean, I know how it is when you sit down and think about life a lot and then you just think about the things you havent’ done and the things you could’ve done. It’s just not a great feeling.” “It’s not a great feeling at all, but hey. It is what it is though.” “But why are you thinking about this stuff anyway?” “I’m just thinking about how short life is. I mean Chandi and Darren lost their kid. Nicole killed herself almost four years ago. It’s just sad.” “I know it is. But be blessed because we are still here and that’s all that matters.”

At Huey’s, Jarrell and Darren were out for lunch and Darren said, “Me and Chandi both decided together to not have a funeral for London.” “Why did you guys come to that decision?” “Well you know that it’s hard enough for Chandi to come to grips with the fact that she’s gone right now and I already know how hard it was for you and Ciara to put Jaden to rest the way y’all did. I know that it was hard for you.” “It will honestly say that it was hard for us. Moreso, Ciara because it was our first child together and she just couldn’t believe that it was happening the way it was.” “I know that. See that’s the main reason why we don’t wanna go through with the situation to be quite honest. I mean, I know that Ciara took it hard when you guys lost Jaden. She damn near wanted to kill Rasheeda at the funeral and I know that Chandi is not gonna wanna deal with that situation. It’s going to be too much for her to deal with.” ‘That’s true. I mean, I’ve seen Chandi a couple times since she’s been out of the hospital and she’s been good for the most part and I just want her to stay as strong as she is right now because I don’t want to see her in pain like that.” “Man, me either. Me and Chandi talk about it sometimes and sometimes she cries and sometimes she doesn’t. I mean it is what it is. I just hope that we can have another child one day.” “Listen you and Chandi will have another baby. I mean, me and Ciara were scared to have another baby and we wasn’t even planning to have Jabari, but he came anyway and we love him to death. So, you and Chandi will have a chance to have another baby. Trust me.” “I hope so man. Because I was really getting used to the idea of me being London’s father.” “I know you were. I mean, you were showing a lot of growth at that point and time. I mean, you even buried the hatchet with BJ. A nigga that you don’t even like. That shit was big of you.” “Right. Me and BJ are still not friends or whatever like that, but you know we are in a better place now. We can be cordial when we we’re in the same spot. But you know what? I can blame London for this. She made me into a mature man.”

At Phoebe and BJ’s house, Phoebe and BJ were sitting down on the couch and Phoebe said, “Well I have something for you.” “Okay, what is it?” Phoebe grabbed her purse and pulled out two plane tickets to Las Vegas and Phoebe said, “There are plane tickets to Las Vegas. You know that Ciara’s shoe launch will be held there and she’s already booked everyone a hotel room and everything. The only thing we would have to pay for is clothes or whatever else we do outside of the launch.” “This is going to be a great vacation.” “Are you sure about that, BJ? I mean Ciara’s invited everyone. Chandi, Ciara, Sharde, Rasheeda and Jameesha. That’s not a good look. I mean Chandi and Rasheeda are at each other’s throats. Then you have Sharde and Ciara at Jameesha’s throat. It’s gonna be a lot of tension.” “It will be. I won’t deny that. But at the end of the day we can only make the best of the trip.”

At Fritti Restaurant, Sharde and Terrance were sitting down at the table having lunch and a glass of wine. Sharde said, “Well, it’s getting down to the wire and the charity event is only a few weeks away at this point and time. So I have to make sure that everything for the event is fine.” “Well, the liquor is good. The decorations are good. The location is obviously since it’s going to be at Ciara and Jarrell’s house. The catering is good as well. So at this point and time, everything is fine regarding the charity event. But you’re the one doing the invitations. So how is that going?” “Well I sent them all off last night. You know I invited a lot of the Atlanta socialite. I invited the people from the Saving Our Daughter’s organization for abused women. I also invited some of the LGBT community. That was courtesy of Kenny.” “Wait a minute, so you got Kenny to be apart of this and invite some people?” “Yes. Did he give me a hard ass time at the beginning? Yes. But I told him to put our personal relationship to side and just try and do this for the sake of charity and he did it because he knows what happened to him and he wants the world to know about what happened and what we can do. As for the girls, I invited Yolanda, Gabriella, Rasheeda, Sharde, Phoebe. I invited Chandi as well as her best friend, Sheena. I even invited Jameesha.” “Wait a minute? You invited Jameesha?” “Yeah. I mean, despite the fact that I may not like her like that. She’s still your girlfriend, so I decided to let her come and be apart of it.” “Well, she’s not actually my girlfriend anymore.” “What? You two broke up or something?” “Yes, I broke up with her a few days ago.” ‘Well do you want me to decline her invitation. It’s not too late.” “Nah. I mean, you’ve already sent the invites out already, so she can still come.” ‘Are you sure? I just don’t want any drama involved.” “Look, there won’t be any drama from me. I’m going to be good whether she’s there or not. I can be around Jameesha. I don’t know if she can do the same for me.” “Well I will have security anyway because Chandi and Rasheeda being in the same area is not the best idea right now. But I’m gonna try my best to keep the charity event drama free because it’s all about my charity.” “And that’s the why it needs to stay.” Sharde and Terrance continued to chat about the upcoming event.

At Grant Park, Brandi was sitting down on a bench by herself and Ree walked up to her and said, “Hey Brandi.” Brandi looked at Ree and began to walk off and Ree said, “Don’t walk away from me.” “Ree, this is really becoming annoying. Everytime you see me, you wanna pull out threats and shit. I don’t really care anymore.” “Listen baby, I know that you could possibly be apart of my granddaughter’s death.” “Ree, you have no clue of what you’re talking about.” “Oh I don’t? Did you see Chandi the day she tumbled down the stairs?” Brandi got quiet and Ree said, “Exactly. You will be exposed for what you did.” “I didn’t do anything.” “I know you did and you will pay for it honey.”

At Fit Mode, Leslie was walking out of the gym after an intense workout with her personal trainer. As she walked to her car, she saw Sabrina standing near her car and Leslie took off her shades and said, “Excuse me, but what the hell are you doing by my car?” “This is your car? I’m so sorry, I didn’t know.” “Oh yes you did bitch. Don’t try to play me.” “Leslie, what is your problem?” “My problem is you trolling around my mothafucking man. That’s my damn problem. Like what the hell do you think this is?” “I think that you are too threatened and too jealous of me.” “Threatened? Jealous? Honey, you work at a strip club. You’re making ME money. What the hell are you saying, sweetheart.” “No, you’re jealous and threatened by me because you know for certain that Jacob is a good man to you and you don’t wanna lose him like you lost your last one. Remember Aiden Jones? The one that you were married to, but lost him because you were sleeping with his father?” Leslie brutally slapped Sabrina, who held her face and Leslie said, “Sweetheart, you really don’t know what the hell you’re doing and who the hell you’re talking to. But I’m Leslie Clark, sweetheart. I don’t play games with the little girls like yourself. Nobody is jealous of you. Look at me. I have a body that’s just as great as yours. I have my own business. I look good and I’m always a bad bitch and I don’t have to take off my clothes to do it boo. That’s what you need to do. You’re round here trolling behind my man, but honey me and him have a family. A family that you will never ever come between.” “I’m not trying to come between your little precious family.” ‘Girl, you’re seething and reeking with jealously. I know it. I’ve been in your position. Minus the stripping. But after this conversation, I hope you know now that I’m not the bitch to play with.” Leslie walked away, but before she got in the car, she said, “Oh and that slap was nothing. There’s MORE where that came from honey.” Leslie put on her shades and got in her Jaguar and drove off. Sabrina stood there and said, “Oh no bitch. You have no clue what I have in store for you.”

At Rasheeda and Demond’s apartment, Rasheeda and Demond were sitting down on the couch and Rasheeda said, “Demond, here.” “Rasheeda, what is this?” “These are plane tickets to Ciara’s shoe launch in Las Vegas. It’s in a week or two. It’s right after Sharde’s charity event and she wants us to come. She’s already booked our hotel room and everything. So you don’t have to worry about paying for anything but food.” “Well that’s good to know. I think that me and you could use this time away from Atlanta to fix our relationship.” ‘Maybe so. I mean, I know that we’ve had a lot of issues lately, but I don’t want us to be over.” ‘Well Rasheeda, you don’t have to worry about that at this time. Just know that I’m here for you and willing to work things out with you. This trip maybe for us to support Ciara, but this is our time to spend time with each other. No children. No parents. Just us.” “I agree. It makes me more excited for the trip.”

At Kyma, Ciara was sitting down having a glass of wine as she waited for her guest to meet with her. Then suddenly, Gabriella arrived at the table and Ciara got up and said, “Hi, Gabriella.” “Hey honey.” Ciara and Gabriella shared a friendly hug and they both sat down at the table. Gabriella said, “So what’s going on, sweet heart.” “Well I know that I haven’t really seen you since our last therapy session.” “No, you haven’t. I thought that maybe you and Jarrell have forgotten about or something.” “No, we haven’t. You are the main reason why me and him are at the place we are at right now in our marriage, so we could never forget you.” “So, how has things been between you, Jarrell and Rasheeda?” “Well things have been great between the three of us. Me and Jarrell are happy. He supports my business ventures and he’s playing Mr. Mom while I’m out of town, but he’s fine with it. He has no problem with it at all. He’s a very supportive husband.” “What about the dynamic with Rasheeda?” “Well, me and Rasheeda are good. We are just taking it one day at a time at this point. You know we’ve had a lot of things to overcome with the situation, but we are able to co-parent. I mean, sometimes me and Jarrell have Jabari and Asia one week. And then she’ll have Jabari and Asia the next week and then she has her own daughter and we have our son the next week and then it turns around again.” “Well it’s nice to see you guys co-parent like mature adults. None of us thought that it would happen like that.” “Well, with that being said Dr. Holmes, because you’ve been a huge part of me and Jarrell’s marriage doing well, I want to invite you and Aiden to my Pink Roses shoe launch.” “Oh you know that I’m there. Where will it be?” “It’s going to be in Las Vegas, the week after Sharde’s charity event.” “Are you sure? I have to book a flight and everyday.” Ciara pulled out two plane tickets and said, “You don’t have to do that. I already booked you and Aiden’s flights and your hotel room is booked already.” “Oh my God, Ciara. You didn’t have to do that.” “Well I had to show my appreciation to you.” “Well you know that I will be there to support you.” “Thank you so much, Gabriella.” Ciara and Gabriella shared a hug.

At Courtyard Park, Phoebe and Jameesha were sitting under the umbrella and Phoebe held Jameesha’s hand as she cried. Jameesha said, “I just can’t believe that this is over, Phoebe. I’ve been crying for like three days straight. I just can’t believe he did this to me.” “Aww Jameesha. I really hate seeing you like this.” “Hell, I hate feeling like this to be honest. I don’t want to feel like this at all. I just don’t like this shit. I love Terrance.” “I know that you love Terrance, Phoebe. But what are you gonna do?” “Phoebe, I’m going to get my man back. I hope he doesn’t think that just because he called quits, it means that it’s over with between us because it’s not. It won’t be over until I say it’s over.” “But Jameesha, you have to give the man time to breathe. I know that you’re hurting. But he might be hurting just as much for letting you go.”

At Buckhead Pizza Co., BJ and Aiden met up for lunch and drinks. BJ and Aiden shook hands and Aiden said, ‘Thanks for coming man.” “I’m glad that you called me dude. It’s been a minute since me and you have gotten together for lunch and shit like that.” “Well I called you out here because I have something very important to tell you.” “Important? Are you serious?” “Yes, I’m very serious. I have something very important to talk to you about. At this point, besides Darren, only my parents know about the situation.” “Okay, man. Then tell me. What’s going on?” “Well for the last few months man, I’ve been living with cancer.” BJ choked on his pizza and said, ‘Cancer? You’ve been living with cancer? How come you haven’t told anyone about it?” “Well it’s not exactly the easiest thing to speak about you know. I mean, it’s not something I want to shout to the rooftops, BJ. I mean I’m not happy. I’m scared. Things are just happening to fast.” “Did the doctor give you a set time of living?” “No, he hasn’t because I’m stage one or two of the cancer. So it’s still early.” ‘Well I think you can still fight it.” ‘I mean, I’m having that same kind of faith too man. I really am. I mean, I just need to get mind in a better place. It’s hard to think positive thoughts, but still be negative at the same damn time. It’s pretty much hard to do that.” “Well look man, I know that me and you have had our issues over the past year and I know that me and you have gotten past them. But if you need anything. I don’t give a damn what it is, just let me know and I’ll be there for you guy.” “Thank you so much, BJ. I really do appreciate that.” “Man, besides Terrance, you are my best friend. You’re like my brother man.” BJ and Aiden shook hands and continued on with their brotherly conversation.

In Atlantic Station, Sharde was walking through the shopping center looking for a nice dress for her charity event. Jameesha was sitting on the bench and she saw Sharde passing by. Jameesha walked over to Sharde and pulled her by her shoulder and Sharde snatched away from her and Jameesha said, ‘Don’t you dare snatch from me?” “Jameesha, I don’t have time for the bullshit today. I have other things on my mind.” “Other things huh? Other things like my man?” “Girl, I don’t want Terrance and he doesn’t want me and it’s pretty obvious that he doesn’t want your ass either.” “Excuse me?” “Girl, I know that you and Terrance broke up. He told me all about it. So while you’re sitting here worrying about me and what I’m doing, you should’ve used that same damn energy towards your keeping your man. But it seems to me that you don’t have a talent for doing nothing but to hate on me.” Jameesha pushed Sharde, who pushed her back. Jameesha then punched Sharde in the face and made her fall on the bench. Jameesha tried to run towards Sharde, who kicked her in the midsection and Jameesha fell on the ground. Sharde pulled Jameesha by the hair and started punching her in the head, but the locals broke them up.

At Chandi and Darren’s apartment, Chandi and Darren were lying in bed together and Chandi said, “I’m really enjoying this, Darren.” “Enjoying what? We ain’t doing nothing but laying here together.” “And I’m enjoying it, Darren. I mean, it’s just me and you. Quiet time. No friends. No annoying family. No stupid bitches. No psychotic hoes. Just us. You know what, Darren? I never thought that me and you would ever make it this far. I mean, when I met you, I was stuck on Terrance.” “And I was stuck on Brandi and I was fresh out of a situation with Rasheeda and thinking that Asia was my daughter.” ‘And I was fresh out of a situation with BJ and Gabriella. I was dating BJ while he was married to Gabriella and she hated me for it.” “Right. Me and you were two of the same kind of people and it was funny because you didn’t think that me and you would work out. But we worked out better than you thought because you changed me.” “Darren, I don’t want to take all of that credit.” “No, Chandi. It’s true. I was with Brandi for damn near six years and I did nothing but fuck her over. I cheated on her with bitch after bitch after bitch. I mean, I did a lot of things to her that I would never even dream about doing with you and she was loyal and faithful to me. She took me back every single time I did something wrong because she was hoping I did right. But then I didn’t and she moved on to BJ and then I moved on to you and God put you in my life at this best time.” “Aww Darren. I feel the same way. I was making a mistake with Terrance. Thinking we could work as a couple, when all we had was our friendship. I just needed somebody to love me and I’m glad I gave you that chance because I believe that if I would’ve stayed with Terrance, I would’ve gotten my heart broken because he would’ve betrayed me for Sharde. I’m so glad that I’m married to you. You are truly the love of my life, Darren.” “And you are the love of my life too, Chandi. I love you baby.” “I love you too, Darren.” Chandi and Darren shared a passionate kiss as they continued to cuddle in bed.

At Leslie and Jacob’s house, Leslie was sitting down on the couch waiting for Jacob to get home. Leslie heard Jacob pulling outside and she said, “Okay Leslie. It’s time for you to put them big girl panties and do the right thing.” Jacob walked in the house and said, “Hey baby.” “Hey Jacob.” Leslie and Jacob shared a kiss and Jacob said, “Where’s Kylie?” “She’s with her Grandma Elizabeth.” “Oh really? I didn’t expect her to have her tonight.” “Well I told her to come and get her because I wanted to be alone with you tonight so we can talk about something.” “Okay. What’s going on?” “Jacob, come sit down.” Jacob sat down on the couch and Leslie held his hand and said, “Jacob, I haven’t been honest with you at all. You’ve been wondering if something’s been going on with me and I’ve lied to you over and over again about it, but I can’t lie anymore. There is a lot going on.” ‘Leslie, just tell me what’s going on.” “Jacob, Clifford’s out of jail.”
