Chapter Fifteen

Aiden looked at BJ and said, “Really BJ? Really? Are you seriously upset about this shit?” “Aiden, the only reason why I’m upset about it is because since you’ve been sleeping with Gabby, you’ve been distant and nervous around me as if you’re uncomfortable about something and now I know why. I mean damn, me and you talked about this when she flirted with you at the club. Why didn’t you just come and tell me about the situation.” “I didn’t think I really owed you an explanation. I mean honestly, I’m a grown ass man. What the fuck do I look like coming to you for some sort of revelation on the situation.” Terrance said, “Aiden, that shit isn’t fair because if one of us were sleeping with Leslie behind your back you would be very upset with us.” Aiden said, “But BJ doesn’t even care about Gabriella, so why is he upset about it.” “Aiden, he’s upset about it because you’ve been very distant with him the whole thing and you obviously had to be fucking with Gabriella for months. I don’t know why you act like you don’t understand that.” BJ said, “It’s not about me wanting to be with Gabriella, cause no I don’t want to be with her anymore. It’s just the fact that you went and fucked her behind my back.” “You and her are not together so clearly it wasn’t behind your fucking back.” “Well you must’ve had a fucking guilty conscience the whole fucking time because that’s the why you acted.” “BJ fuck you, nigga. I don’t have time for this.” BJ got up and said, “Really Aiden?” BJ pushed Aiden, who pushed BJ and Terrance got into between them and said, “Y’all two niggas stop man. It’s not even worth it.” Aiden said, “Naw it’s not” and he walked off.

At Ciara and Jarrell’s house in Buckhead, Ciara and Jarrell had broke away from their hug and Jarrell noticed that Ciara was still crying. Jarrell said, “Baby, tell me what’s wrong. It doesn’t seem like you’re as happy about this pregnancy as I am.” “Jarrell, don’t get me wrong. I want another baby. I mean I’m not mad at all about being pregnant right now. But I just feel like it’s not the right time for me to be pregnant. I mean I have a lot on my plate right now and I feel like all of the things that’s in front of me will be slowed down because of my pregnancy and I don’t want that to happen right now.” “Ciara baby, don’t think like that. I don’t think you’re going to be slowed.” “Come on, Jarrell. You know I will be as the months go by. But I can’t be upset about it, because I’m not having an abortion and I’m not giving up for adoption. This is our second chance at being parents and I will fufill it for you.” “That’s what I’m talking about, Ciara. This is the right attitude to have.” Ciara and Jarrell shared an emotional hug and Jarrell said, “Well I’ll be back, Ciara. I’m about to go and take myself a shower.” “Okay.” As Jarrell walked away, Ciara started to cry all over again.

At Piedmont Park, Rasheeda and Asia arrived at the park together holding hands walking around the park. Rasheeda came to a bench and sat down, along with Asia, whom she looked at and said, “Asia, honey. I got somebody that I want you to meet, okay. He’s a very special person and I think you will be seeing a lot of him soon.” Rasheeda and Asia shared a mother and daughter hug in the park, as Demond started walking up to them. As Demond got closer, Rasheeda stood up and they kissed and hugged. Rasheeda said, “Demond, I know that you’ve been dying to meet her and here she is. This is Asia.” Demond bent down and said, “Hey Asia. How are you doing.” Asia said, “Fine.” “My name is Demond and a friend of your mothers. You’ll be seeing a lot of me from now on and we’re gonna have a such a good time. Okay?” “Ok.” Rasheeda and Demond chuckled at Asia’s innocence. Demond said, “She’s such a beautiful and sweet little girl.” Rasheeda said, “Sweet? Oh I see that Asia is fooling you already because that girl is bad as hell and she ain’t fooling me.” “Well, hey. You already know that I’m going to be spoiling her.” “Oh my God. Now don’t even start spoiling her ass rotten like that, Demond.” “Rasheeda, I love kids. I’ve always wanted children of mine, especially a little girl. I didn’t really want a son. It’s too much work trying to teach a little boy to be a man, so I think it would be easier to me to have a little girl to spoil and I see that you’ve blessed me with one to spoil now.” “Aww Demond. Asia is really going to fall in love with you, Demond.” “I think I’m gonna fall in love with her too.” Rasheeda said, “Come on, Asia. Me, you and Demond are about to take a walk around the park.” Asia got off the bench and Rasheeda, Asia and Demond started holding hands walking around the beautiful Piedmont Park together.

At Chandi and Darren’s apartment in Midtown, Chandi was on the phone and said, “Well thanks for nothing!” Chandi hang up the phone as Darren walked in. Darren said, “Chandi, what’s going on?” “It’s this damn wedding planning. I’m trying to get the right venue for the one and these people are playing around on me. I don’t like that shit. I want my wedding to be the shit and it won’t be if these mothafuckas keep playing with me.” “Look at me, Chandi. I have told you to stop stressing yourself about this wedding shit. I’ll marry you at the damn Waffle House if I had to. It’s not that serious to me, baby. All I wanna do is spend the rest of my life with you.” “Aww, Darren.” Chandi and Darren shared a tender kiss and Darren said, “And speaking of wedding planning, is Ciara and Tawanna still not seeing eye to eye on the wedding plans?” “Is that even a question? You KNOW that they are not seeing eye to eye.” “I kinda find their little feud funny. They really don’t have a problem with each other, they’re clashing because they both love you and want to help you have a fabulous wedding.” “It’s not amusing to me because I’mma end up killing both of them bitches.”

At the Frosty Caboose, Leslie and her mother, Elizabeth arrive for some ice cream. After they received their ice cream, they sit down and Elizabeth said, “So what’s been going on? The only time me and you have ever talked over ice cream is when something was bothering you. So I really need to know what it is.” “Momma, me and Mama Jones are still having issues and it’s really starting to become worse for me and even stressful for me and my child and I can’t have that. I really can’t.” “Lee Lee, I told you that you can’t let her steal your joy. You are at the happiest point of your life and I’ve seen you grow over the last few years. Don’t let anyone stop your growth.” “But Mom, this woman used to be my mother in law and we still own the business together and she’s blaming bad thing that happens there on me and my child. I just can’t keep putting up with her bullshit.” ‘Well I don’t want to say this, because I feel that it’s wrong time to bring it up, but I honestly never wanted you to go into business with that woman. Even when you were married to Aiden. I mean you and him were having your issues then anyway and I always knew that if you and him started have some issues, that the business would be in jeopardy and everything would be blamed on you. I really don’t like this situation, sweetie. You and your child shouldn’t have to work under those conditions.” “But what am I supposed to do? I mean, we both own the salon and I really don’t want to give up my shares because I worked hard to help make that place what it is for me to just walk away from it like that.” “Well, you need to figure out something, Lee Lee. Like seriously because you are stressing yourself off and you’re crying everyday and that is not good for you nor Kylie Elizah. Now please just calm down and get your head on straight and not think about Donna Jones and her madness.”

At Gabriella’s house in Adamsville, Aiden arrived there and knocked on the door. Gabriella said, “Who the hell is this beating on my door like they’re the damn police?” Gabriella opened her door and saw an angry Aiden standing there and said, “Aiden, what’s wrong with you?” “Your ex-husband was about to get his ass beat.” “What? What the hell would y’all be fighting for?” “It was over you.” “Over me?” “Yes, over you. He confronted me about sleeping with you behind his back.” “Well, it’s really none of his business anyway. I mean me and you don’t even like each other, so he really shouldn’t be concerned about who I’m sleeping with. And another thing, I’m even more pissed at you for even letting it get close to that.” “But I’m not the one who initiated the drama though. He brought it to me. I had no plans in talking to him about our relationship.” “Oh well. The bastard knows and I really don’t give a damn about him knowing the truth either.” Gabriella planted a passionate kiss on Aiden and said, “And I’m hoping that you don’t give a damn about him knowing either.” “I don’t.” Aiden planted a passionate kiss on Gabriella, who said, “Let’s go to bed.”

At Terrance’s apartment in Buckhead, Terrance and BJ arrived and Terrance said, “Do you want a beer or something man? You need to calm down.” “Yeah, T. I need a damn drink.” Terrance went and got BJ a beer and said, “BJ, man, calm down.” “T, did you not see what just happened there man? Aiden got some fucking nerve to be trying to get all buck with me when he was the one hiding shit.” “I know that, BJ. But I’m just saying, I’ve never seen you this upset.” “Because I feel fucking betrayed man. I honestly do feel that way. I mean he was already distant and being shady towards me for no reason and now I fucking find out that he’s been sleeping with my ex-wife behind my back and his shadiness is the reason why he’s been acting that way towards me. Aiden is a fucking bitch dog. And plus, I’ve always been loyal to that dude. I mean, I was there for that guy even after he was playing with my sister’s emotions and sent her to her grave. I was still his friend even after that shit and this is how he does this shit man? That is why I’m so fucking pissed.” “Well I guess you can say that you know see him for who he really is. I mean, I just can’t believe Aiden acted like that shit didn’t matter, knowing that if you ever had slept with Leslie, his ass would be very upset about it.” “Exactly. That’s my thing and he knows that he would’ve been upset. But he trying to downplay the shit like it’s nothing. Man, get the fuck out of here dude. I know it’s bullshit. He had no right to do that shit behind my back. When he told me that she came on to him at the club a few months ago, I should’ve known then that he wanted to fuck her. That nigga is foul and I have nothing else for Aiden, T.” “Man, so you’re saying there’s no way we all can just calm down and fix this shit.” “T, as of right now, I don’t want to be around that dude because if I do, I’m gonna whoop his mothafucking ass for real.”

At Frankie and James’ house, Jarrell arrived and rung the doorbell. Frankie opened the door and said, “Jarrell! Honey! Come on in.” Frankie and Jarrell shared a mother/son hug and as Jarrell walked in the house, James said, “Hey son!” “Hey Dad.” “What brings you by?” “Well I came by here because I have something to tell you guys.” Frankie said, “What is it? Are you and Ciara getting a divorce?” “No, we are not getting a divorce. But we are expecting another child. Yes, Ciara is two months pregnant.” Frankie said, “Oh my God. Are you serious?” “Yes, I’m serious. I’m going to be a Dad again.” James said, “Well that’s good to hear. But I mean, it’s been two years since Jaden had died, so I mean it was time for you guys to have another baby.” Jarrell said, “I know right. I know we didn’t expect to have another baby right now due to the fact that Ciara has been doing a lot with getting her clothing line up off the ground and it’s a busy time. But hey, we’re both happy to be having another child.” Frankie said, “I’m happy too, Jarrell. I’m happy you…..and I guess I’m happy for that little thing too. Jameesha is going to be so happy to find out.” Jarrell said, “I can’t wait to tell her about it.”

At Thelma’s Rib Shack, Aiden decided to meet up with Darren to speak with him about the confrontation he had with BJ. Darren came in and said, “What’s up guy?” “What’s up, Darren.” Aiden and Darren shook hands and sat down. Darren said, “So what’s going on, dude?” “Man, the other day, me and BJ almost boxed.” “What the hell? Are you fucking serious, man?” “Yes, I’m dead serious man. I just can’t believe that this dude is that upset because I didn’t tell me that I was fucking Gabriella. I mean, I didn’t think it would be a big deal because he and Gabriella aren’t actually best friends.” “I told you not to tell him. I don’t get why you did.” “But that’s the thing, Darren. I never told BJ anything about what was going on between me and Gabriella. I felt guilty about it. I truly did, but I never had any intentions on telling him. But I don’t know who could’ve told him about what was going on because I know Gabby didn’t.” “Well look man, it doesn’t matter who knows now. The truth is out now and there’s nothing that that nigga can really say about it. He’s mad. So the fuck what? Why should you care?” “I just didn’t expect for me and him to get to that point. You know what I’m saying?” “Oh yeah, Aiden. I get what you mean and I know that’s your homie. I mean, he’s been your friend for years even after everything happened with Nicole, but I don’t think you need to beat yourself up for what happened between you and Gabriella. It was just sex and it was none of his business about what happened between you two either. BJ will just have to get it over that shit and move the fuck on.” “Man, see I knew you would understand.” “Aiden, now you know I would.”

At Ciara and Jarrell’s house in Buckhead, Terrance said, “Jarrell, I’m so happy for you and Ciara. I’m glad a new kid is on the way.” “Yeah. I know it wasn’t planned. We didn’t really plan on having another child so soon, but we’re happy regardless.” “Well, Jarrell, I think that us and the guys needs to have a sit down.” “Oh lord. What the hell is going on?” “Man, it’s BJ and Aiden. I had to step in the middle of them because they were about to box the other day.” A shocked Jarrell said, “Man, you have to be kidding me.” “No. I’m dead serious. They were about to box.” “About what?” “Well, like I told you before, Aiden has been very distant with us lately and we never understood. BJ talked to Rasheeda about it and she told him that Gabriella and Aiden were sleeping together. She seen them having dinner together one night.” “Oh my God and he went and confronted Aiden about it and Aiden was being nonchalant about it.” “Yeah basically. It was like, Aiden was nervous when we first called him up there. But once we got into the conversation or whatever, he starting getting slick with his mouth and that really pissed BJ off and BJ pushed him and Aiden pushed him back and that’s when I stepped in and broke it up.” “Yeah, T. I think it’s time for a sit down too. I can’t have BJ and Aiden fighting like that.”

At The Underground, Chandi was shopping for some new clothes. “Oh, this is cute. I think I’m going to get this and then I’m gonna stop by Wet Seal and get some shit for the club.” Then Brandi walked over and said, “Well if it isn’t the bride to be.” “Yeah, it’s me bitch. Something you wish to be.” “Girl, you really believe that Darren is going to marry you. He’s not. Nothing could ever change his player ways and trust me, I would know that.” “But baby, just because he did you dirty and played you like a fool, doesn’t mean that he’s going to do the same shit to me because he’s not.” “Chandi, I understand that you are in love with Darren. I understand. I was there before.” “Mmmhmm and you want to be there again. Look bitch, let me tell you something, I don’t know who the hell you think you are trying to downplay what I have with Darren, but I will go for it.” “Baby, Darren is not marriage material. So I don’t why you’re going so hard for him.” “Brandi, please. If anyone’s going hard for him, it’s you. You’re the main bitch going hard for a nigga who really doesn’t give a fuck about you and that’s something that you really need to get over.” “Girl, I don’t have to do shit. Because your wedding will never happen.” “Bitch is that a threat?” “No, it’s a promise. It will never happen. It will be off and cancelled before you know it.” Chandi slapped Brandi, who said, “You slapped me because you know it’s true.” “No, I slapped you because you are trying it. I’m not worried no bitch ruining my fucking wedding. Especially some delusional ass ex-girlfriend.” ‘Call me what you want, Chandi. But you know that I have a hold on Darren.” “No, he has a hold on you and he’s not even thinking about you. So bitch, my wedding is coming in about three months and so continue to count the days bitch. You’ll be outside of the church crying and ready to kill yourself.” Chandi walked away and bumped Brandi.

At the Urban PL8, Sharde met up with her foster sister, Marquisha to tell her what’s been on her mind. Sharde said, “I’m glad you decided to meet me here.” “I know it’s been years.” “I’ve been going to therapy and while I was there I revealed a secret that I’ve been keeping for years.” “Okay. What’s going on.” “Marquisha, David molested me.” Marquisha said, “What? David who?” “Our father, David, Marquisha.” “No, Sharde. You’re lying. My father would never do that to his own daughter.” “Marquisha, are you blind? I was never daughter biologically and you know how Martha and David treated me. Everytime you and Martha would leave me at home by myself, he would take advantage of me.” “I don’t think he did that to you, Sharde.” “Why would I lie about something about this? I don’t think this is something that I would just pull out of my ass. This shit is real and it really happened to me.” “I don’t think he did it because the man I know would never molest his own children.” “You know what, Marquisha? I can’t deal with this right now. I have to go. I really have to go.”

At Rasheeda’s apartment in Bankhead, Rasheeda had dropped Asia off at Frankie’s house, so she and Demond could have some alone time together. Rasheeda said, “I’m so glad that we got to spend this time together.” “Well I can say this, Rasheeda. I was very honored that you let me meet your daughter. I never thought that would happen.” “Why not?” “I mean, I didn’t know how long our situation was gonna last. I mean we’ve been at this for a good three or four months now and now I’m meeting your daughter. That was cool of you.” “Look Demond, I obviously have a good feeling about what we got going. So that’s why I let you meet Asia. I thought that you were worthy of meeting my daughter.” “Well what about your family?” “You know what? I did notice that I haven’t really introduced you to my younger brother, Byron. He’ll be cool with you. My sister, Nicole is dead, so you know you can’t meet her. She committed suicide last year.” “Aww I’m sorry to hear that, Rasheeda.” “Me too. I mean she really would’ve liked you. My sister always wanted me to be happy, but she wasn’t happy herself. Sometimes I wish I could turn back the hands of time and save her from doing that to herself. But hey, it’s out of my control at this point now, so I can’t sit here and constantly talk about what I would or wouldn’t do for my sister.” “Well yeah, I understand that. But I have something to tell you.” “What is it, Demond?” “Well we already talked about my feelings about meeting Asia already. But I have more feelings I want to discuss and it’s the feelings that I have for you.” “What?” “Rasheeda, I’m falling for you and I’ll understand if you don’t feel the same way about me right now. I’m a patient man and I can wait. But I just wanted you to know how I felt.” “Aww Demond.” Rasheeda and Demond hugged each other and they started to kiss passionately.

In Downtown Atlanta, Jacob was in the area taking care of business and he ran into Mama Jones and he said, “Hey, how are you doing?” “Oh I’m fine. Jacob isn’t it?” “Yeah, I’m Jacob. Leslie’s boyfriend.” “Yeah I know exactly who you are and I’m glad that I ran into you because I have a few things that I need to say to you.” “I’m confused. Why would you have anything to say to me?” “You listen to me, Jacob. I don’t know who you think you are but you really need to steer clear of Leslie. She’s losing focus of what’s important, which is our business.” “Look, Donna, I understand that you are stressed about the business and I know that you aren’t used to Leslie being with a man besides your son, but I think you need to mind your own damn business. Whomever Leslie decides to sleep with or marry is none of your damn business.” “I don’t know who you’re talking to, Jacob, but you really need to get your mouth in check.” “No Donna, you need to get your priorities in check. What me and Leslie have going on has nothing to do with you or your son. Now I’m gonna be respectful to you and leave this conversation alone. I’ll see you around.” Jacob walked away.

At Six Feet Under Pub & Fish House, Ciara and Chandi arrived to have some lunch together. Ciara said, “I love sitting on the outside to eat girl. I just love it.” “Girl, me too.” Ciara and Chandi ordered their food and Ciara said, “So what’s been going on because me and Tawanna getting on your nerves with our bickering over the wedding.” “Well BESIDES that, my mother and I haven’t been getting along at all.” “Why?” “Well Ciara, she doesn’t like Darren at all and you know Darren’s mother came by and she didn’t like her either and she gave Terrance the cold shoulder because she holds him responsible for what happened with his Uncle Chester.” “What? That’s not his fault though.” “I know it’s not, Ciara. I honestly do. But she seems to think so and I just don’t think it’s fair that she’s treating him like that. But enough of my drama with my family and this wedding, what’s going on with you?” “Well I found out that I’m two months pregnant.” “You and Jarrell are expecting again?” “Yes, we are.” “Oh my God. That’s good.” “I mean, I’m happy that I’m pregnant.” “But you don’t seem like it though.” “Don’t get me wrong, Chandi. I want another child and I want another chance to be a mother, but I feel this baby has come at the wrong time. I mean, my store doing big things and then my clothing line is about to come together and all of a sudden I’m pregnant. I feel like my pregnancy is going to slow me down at this point.” “Ciara, I don’t think so. I think if you continue to be consistent and driven and focused on what you wanna do, it won’t matter if you’re pregnant or not. Long as you know what you want and the ways to go about getting it, that all that matters.” “That’s true. Maybe I was just worrying myself over nothing. But I’m going to have my baby and I’m going to love it like I loved Jaden and like I love Asia.” “That’s the spirit to have girl.”

At Chandi and Darren’s apartment in Midtown, Jarrell and Darren got their respective families together to celebrate Darren’s wedding. Frankie walked up to Darren and said, “Boy, I’m so proud of you. You got me acting like a proud mother right now.” “Well you are like a mother to me and I’m glad that you came here to be there for me.” “Darren, you know that I would never miss this for the world.” Jameesha said, “Jarrell, I just know that have some friends that I can date. Your little sister is tired of being single.” “Jameesha, my friends are pushing thirty. You’re too young for them.” “Boy please I am not too young for them.” Ree looked at Jarrell’s brother, Frederrick and said, “Boy you and Jarrell have really grown up to be some handsome grown men. I guess Frankie and James got them good genes baby.” Fred chuckled and said, “Ree, I still you’re still the same ole Ree.” “Of course baby and I’m not going to change baby.” James walked up to Darren and said, “Boy I’m too surprised that I’m about to be alive to see you get married. I thought you were gonna be a pimp your whole life.” “Nawl, man. It was time for me to settle down.” “Hey I was you in your day.” The two laughed
