1993-1994 Meet when they are around 5-6. Tazer playing for the Dakota Lazers, Dan probably playing for the Dakota Kings – both at the Dakota Community Centre.
1995 Become best friends when they are 6-7. Start playing together on the Dakota Lazers. At some point they might play for the Dakota Kings again. They also play for the Mighty Mites. Tazer’s outdoor pond in his backyard is where his brother and his friends spend a lot of their time.
1998 Tazer is in the Brick Hockey Tournament. Dan most likely is as well.
1998-2003 Plays hockey together into their teens: Winnipeg Jr. Jets, Winnipeg Warriors, St. Vital Victorias (Tazer is captain of St. Vitals, Dan has the ‘A’). Dan listed at 6’1”, 145lbs while on the Warriors (vs. Jonny at 5’11”, 163lbs). Win 5 straight city championships together. Spend summers at the golf course a lot, where they had memberships. Have sleepovers at Tazer’s house with friends, mom makes them crepes for breakfast which they love.

January 2003 Compete together for the Winnipeg Warriors in the 25th Annual St. Albert AAA Bantam Hockey Tournament (now known as the John Reid Memorial Tournament) in which they win Gold. Dan finishes 7-day tournament with 9 points; Tazer, wearing the ‘C’ ,finishes as the top scorer with 36, making the First All-Star team and still leading the Tournament in points to this day. (x) (x)
March 23 2003 Play together in the Provincial Finals to advance to the Western Canadian Bantam Hockey Championships. Scores 2 goals; Tazer scores 4.
April 10-13 2003 Play together in the Bantam Championships with in Souris, MB. Dan finishes the championships with 5 points in 5 games; Tazer with 16 points in 5 games.
June 25 to 27 2004 Attend Brandon Hockey Excellence Camp together
2005-2006 Dan with Tri-City Americans in Washington while Tazer is at UND. Posts pictures of himself and Tazer to Myspace, most of which have Tazer’s arm wrapped around him. Dan gets teased by teammates that they look like an old married couple. Pictures posted included: them at the beach, Dan fishing with the Toews family, and pics of them with their moms. Fall 2007 Sometime during the first 20 games of the season, Tazer flies Dan out to Chicago for a game at the U.C.
