I’m going to be honest guys….the holidays freak me out just a little bit. No, it’s not the need to find the perfect presents. It’s not even the hurry to get all the decorations up. So what is it? Quite simply it’s the struggle to keep my home ready for guests during the busy holiday season.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret and tell you that with two boys, a dog and a hubby, I have a really hard time keeping my house spick and span during the regular months of the year. But the holidays take this struggle to a whole new level. With Christmas parties planned and unexpected guests sure to arrive, it’s essential that I have quick and easy ways to ensure that all my holiday entertaining is sparkly {clean} and bright!
So how do I do this? Well some days it’s easy and some days it’s not. You see, between the messes that everyday life brings and the messes that life with little boys bring, there are alwyas a million items that need a good cleaning in my home. In order to make sure I’m ready for whatever the season brings, I need a quick and easy way to ensure messes of all sizes are easy to clean up. In the past, I’ve used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for my walls and it has worked oh so well!
From tiny little handprints to full on art projects that somehow end up on the walls, the Magic Eraser has been a quick way to make sure at least the walls in my home are always clean.
But here recently, I’ve been hearing other moms talk about how the Magic Eraser is not just for walls. In fact, it has about a million uses! After doing a little research I discovered that I had been missing my biggest cleaning tool by not using this little helper more!
As I walked around my home with Magic Eraser in hand, I realized that it was the missing items in my holiday preparation! Here are just a few of the million ways I used it to ensure my home is ready for holiday guests!
To Clean My Grout: To think I’ve spent endless hours mopping trying to turn grey grout white! Instead, I’m getting rid of hard to clean stains (like the holiday kool-aid the kids spilled) and making my grout sparkly white! Whether it’s a recent mess or needing to spot clean, my days of being on the floor with a toothbrush are so over! Instead I’m simply using the Magic Eraser!
To Clean Wood: I have tons of wood in my house. My cabinets, my table, even my floors! When messes happen, I often worry about damaging the wood by trying to clean up. But not anymore! The Magic Eraser quickly and easily cleans up even paint from holiday projects on my wood table after projects, ensuring that my home looks way cleaner than it ever is!
To Clean Kitchen Appliances: From the Kitchen Aid mixer to the toaster to the stove, dried on food is a pain…..or at least it has been. Before guests come over for holiday celebrations I simply run over all these items with my Magic Eraser to ensure that they are blinded by the cleanliness of my kitchen instead of the grubbiness of my dirt!
To Clean My Dishes: Really? Yes! The Magic Eraser is perfect for cleaning out my casserole dishes and even my crock pot! Forget elbow grease people! Simply wet your Magic Eraser sponge and watch the baked on nastiness from favorite holiday dishes disappear! Shhhh….this tip is even mother-in-law approved!
To Clean Glass: Did you know that Magic Eraser can make glass really sparkle? But more than that, it can help you create fun crafts! You know I’m all about crafting this holiday season and Magic Eraser help me put together the perfect glasses for our upcoming holiday event!
I was able to take Mason Jars (a southern classic), write on them with Sharpies and not have to worry that it wouldn’t come off!
In fact, I create a whole craft around the fact that Magic Eraser would make the clean up easy! I simply grabbed my sharpie, wrote Merry + Bright on my Mason Jars and added a string of sparkly beads with a present around the top. Then I poured in my drink, added a festive straw and had the cutest custom glasses you could image!
And guess what? When I was done with them all I had to do was wet my Magic Eraser, wipe the surface off and they were just like new!
This was perfect to ensure that if I made mistakes or if I wanted to change the theme of my celebration, I didn’t have to go out and buy new jars! And I could even switch things up keeping some jars custom for adults and making others perfect for the kids!
