About two weeks ago, I told you how EA Sports NCAA 2012 Football was taking our house by storm. And since then, it’s been a fever pitch around here awaiting the much anticipated release of NCAA 2013 Football. Because, let’s face it, each year the games get bigger and better, the competition gets more fierce and a new King of the Pigskin must be crowned! And there were some super special things this year that we were really looking forward to taking advantage of, like the You’re Covered Facebook App that let’s you put your own face on the front cover of the game!
Well, I’m happy to say the wait is over and NCAA 2013 is officially here. And when I say here, I mean right here, as in, it’s in J-Man’s hands! And the wait was well worth it! In order to celebrate the release of the new and improved game, we started out by using the You’re Covered program to make J-Man his very own game cover. It was so simple to use and we were able to walk through step by step, choosing the console we wanted the game for (XBox) and our favorite team (Georgia Tech of course)!
Then I easily found a great photo of J-Man and was able to insert it, size it and rotate it to where his head was a perfect fit in the helmet! It was a super exciting experience that resulted in a game cover that I think might just be a prized possession in our home!
That’s got future football hero written all over it, right? After creating our masterpiece, I was able to print it out and all that was left was to head to Walmart to pick up the game and insert the cover! The excitement was extreme to say the least.
We arrived at Walmart and headed in and straight for the video games section. I honestly don’t know if J-Man was more excited about getting the new game or seeing his face on the cover! And excited he should have been! Because it was NCAA 13 Football Mania in the video game section. With displays, a console to test the game out on and NCAA signage everywhere, you couldn’t help be get in on the excitement! J-Man was all into it and ran from station to station, testing out the new game, posing with the displays and enjoying the general feel of football in the air!
Once we had purchased our game, loaded up on some snacks (because all that game playing makes a guy hungry) and bounced around the store in eager anticipation, we were finally on our way with our purchases and ready to get home and insert the new game cover!
Once we got home, we were able to easily insert our game cover into the game to make it customized just for J-Man! I think this was one of the most exciting things ever for him because he just adored that his game had his face on the cover! I personally think this was genius idea on the part of EA Sports because, after all, what kid doesn’t want to feel like the star of their very own video game?
After J-Man had had time to admire his new cover, we popped that bad boy into the XBox to get ready for some fun! We were super excited about checking out all the new features like the Heisman Challenge, the all new and improved passing game, Reaction Time (this is seriously the coolest feature ever!) and new recruiting techniques with the Dynamic Dynasty feature! And let me say, this game did not disappoint!
With the ability to build the best teams ever through recruiting, being able to put yourself in the NCAA football game and watching everything slow down to a tension building crawl with the Reaction Time feature, this game takes NCAA to a new level by allowing you to really feel that you are in the game! And we were immediately impressed by the top notch graphics that definitely made you feel like you were on the field!
Overall, we are thrilled with the new features and changes to NCAA12! You know, just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, it did! So now a whole new winner will have to be crowned. New games will have to be played. And a new experience will have to be enjoyed. I think our home is the draw of the neighborhood now as boys line up to see just what is new. And it is all super exciting! But the real rivalry is between father and son and let me say, this is bonding at it’s best!
