I’m giving party dresses a break this week. I have been loving my dressy jackets. Thanks to some special touches, this jacket and jeans feels just as fancy as short dress.
I wore this outfit last week to our team holiday party. If you can believe it, it was a party for 9! It would’ve been bigger, but three of the team members live out of state. We had a lovely dinner at Tipsy Parson in NYC. I told everyone to dress festive. I had been wanting to wear this jacket all season. I bought it last January at the Cabi Scoop event in San Diego. There’s a big warehouse sale at the end of the event and I “scooped” up this jacket. I love the cut and the sparkle.
Since the jacket had a few special touches (don’t you love the lining you see peeking out in the top photo) and I wanted my bag and bracelet to stand out, I kept everything else simple. The slim jeans are from a StitchFix box and the turtleneck is ancient from a long-ago shopping trip in Paris.
The bag is from Jack Rogers and the bracelet from LOFT. I was feeling the love for metallics as you can tell! Off I went in the miild NYC weather–with my silver accents making me feel sparkly.
The dinner was lovely and everyone looked smashing. I’m fortunate to have ladies surrounding me with great style–they inspire me everyday to look my best and to never think boring and basic are all that moms can wear. From our 22 year old interns who come to the office looking adorable to our busy Long Island mom of two who has a tot yet to experience the joy of sleeping through the night AND yet she still remains looking sharp. YOU ladies inspire me!
