Quick! Your kid has fallen asleep and you have anywhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours to get sh*t done!! What do you do? What do you do?!

Sound familiar? That scenario is my current prison sentence, and I (sometimes) am determined to make the most of it. That could mean anything from doing the dishes to working on my manuscript, but what I would also like it to occasionally incorporate is getting some frigging exercise. I’ll be honest, the gym and I broke up a while ago — it was always guilt tripping me and taking my money, so I told the gym we needed a break. It’s not you, Gym, it’s me, because now that I have kids I just don’t always have time for you! (Even though it’s only a 10 minute walk from my apartment — yes, I could try harder).

So, I’ve decided I am going to try harder. But at this point in my life that means squeezing in a workout while my son is taking a nap, or after bedtime (hah). I’ve done some research, and there are some incredibly simple home workouts. They don’t necessarily require equipment (though if you have a set of weights or kettle bells lying around it wouldn’t hurt), and most of them are only a few minutes long. Seriously, we’ve all got time for a 5-minute workout, so grab some spandex and check out this slideshow of fun, challenging exercises you can do from the comfort of your living room.
