I think this list of winners is perfect. I love finding gifts that encourage learning and creativity and every single item on this list encourages those items. I have many of these items above on my shopping list because I know that my kids will love them! I was so lucky to be able to try out a few of the Brilliance Award Winner items and i’m excited to share my opinion with you. Each and everyone one of them we loved.
The Loop De Loom retails at $29.99 and is for ages 8+. I think that age assessment is perfect. My 9 year old daughter helped me with the review and with a little bit of help was able to use it. I remember being a young girl and learning to finger weave so it was fun being with my daughter and teaching her how to weave. The Loop De Loom is fantastic because it really teaches you to follow directions, have patience and create.
The LoopDeLoom features a new loom design with spinning pegs to make weaving effortless. Your kids will have fun making scarves, phone cases, head bands and more. Once you get the hang of the process, it really goes quite fast and is a lot of fun. I actually found the process to be quite relaxing! My daughter was excited to make a rug for her doll house. Her next project is to make a scarf! The LoopDeLoom is a perfect Holiday Gift Guide edition for a gift for tweens and teens. Kit includes spinning peg loom, 120 yards of yarn and detailed instructions.
This is a great gift because your recipient has the opportunity to use their imagination and create something. My kids get so much joy out of completely a project from start to finish. The LoopDeLoom is fun because you can then wear your project or give it away as a gift!
These Sew Cute Sets are “SEW” adorable! :) These sets retails for only $9.99 and are perfect for ages 8+. They have easy to follow step by step instructions and have the holes already in the felt for easy sewing. This would make a really fun stocking stuffer. We had the chance to try out the Owl and the Kitty. Seriously, aren’t they the cutest?
My daughter has taken an interest in sewing so she was very excited to be able to try out the Sew Cute Kits. These kids are available at Brilliant Sky Toys & Books and are a really fun hands on project. They are easy enough to do that your kids have fun, but hard enough that they have to follow directions and learn. I love the bright colors and fun patterns. My daughter was so excited to sew and stuff her own animal and then display it in her room. I could tell that she was proud of her accomplishment. It was fun seeing her struggle a little on the Owl and then really grow, learn and understand by the time that she got to the Kitty so she really was product of how far she had come.
The 8-piece set comes with easy-to-follow instructions, pre-cut felt pieces,stuffing, child-safe needle, and thread. This is a fantastic gift to encourage creativity and learning the basics of sewing.
The Plus-Plus Mini-Basic set retails for retails for $29.99 and is for ages 3+. This was such a popular item in our home. It helps that we have four kids ages 3 and older. They have spend endless hours playing and creating and I love seeing what they come up with. If your kids love creating and building, this gift is perfect and available at Brilliant Sky Toys & Books.
I think my favorite thing about this set is that each age can use it differently. My three year old daughter loved putting random pieces together. She would make long trains or make designs by color. I could she how she was mastering her hand eye coordination and loved seeing her match colors. My 6 year old love building flat items. He would make swords, people, or more advanced patterns. My oldest two kids loved following the patterns and making 3D designs. Their favorite was an airplane that they would then play with. This is such a great gift. I am not kidding, they cooperate, share, help each other and play together! I am going to get a few more sets of these for Christmas so they have more pieces to build with.
This building set gets its name because two plus (+) signs joined together and you “get” this simple shape that you can connect together with endless possibilities. Plus-Plus building bricks allow kids as young as 3 to create mosaics or 3-D designs. This set contains 480 bricks and instructions.
