I have four kids so when I get the opportunity to review a pair of shoes I never turn it down.  I know you are just like me and either kids wear through a pair of shoes quickly or the leave one of shoes at a friends house and you are left with mismatched pairs!  My youngest daughter was burdened with a lot of hand me down shoes.  Many of which probably were worn for too long by and older sibling and just didn’t have any level of comfort left in them.  I guess it was no surprise that when she got her hands on a pair of KidOFit’s she didn’t want to talk them off and they quickly became her shoes of choice.

I had the opportunity to pick out a pair of KidoFit shoes to review.  All opinions in this post are my own.  I honestly had a really hard time choosing because they have such a great selection of styles.  I narrowed it down to a few pairs, but ultimately I loved the “Lily” shoes and it is my youngest daughters name so I figured they would be a perfect choice.  :)  Plus the adorable pink color and sparkly details was an instant hit! Lets be honest, though.  Having a pair of shoes with your daughters name and being super cute and sparkly is fun but its not what is important.  In a pair of shoes for a 2 year old the number one most important things is comfort. If she is not comfortable in the shoes, she will not wear them.  Its as simple as that. So do the KidOFit shoes live up to my standard of comfort?

Seriously, I am very intrigued by these shoes.  I have heard a lot about the positives of barefoot walking with growing feet so when I found out that these shoes promoted healthy growth in children I really liked what I learned.  I wish I could explain the science behind it all but i’ll use their own words: “Follwing the research on the importance of barefoot walking for growing feet, KidOFit has been using its expertise in foot biomechanics to craft shoes that offer the ultimate barefoot walking experience, and promote healthy development in infants and toddlers.” Being a mom, they had me at ulimate experience and healthy development.  Right?  So what does this all mean?  The KidOFit shoes have a customizable fit system and ergonomic design that allows for healthy development. Awesome, right! There are many features of the KidOFit shoe that I found to be unique in any shoes that we have ever owned.  These shoes comes with transparent soles which allows the parent to see the child’s toes.  As parents, we assume that our kids shoes fit correctly, but we don’t really know.  This transparent soles lets the parent see where their toes line up and know if the shoes is fitting correctly or if they are ready for another size.  Cool, huh!If your childs shoes are a little big, you can get fitting inserts that allow them to fit into their shoes longer.  They wear the inserts to help them fit to the correct size and when they outgrow the inserts, they can wear the shoes regularly.  Right now, my daughter is currently wearing hers with inserts.  I love this because I feel like the shoes will last longer than other shoes because of this which in the long run saves me money.
As you can see from the photo above, another feature that I love about her shoes is that they have a heel strap as well as the regular velcro strap.  I have never seen this before but I really like it.  Just because a kid wears a certain size shoe doesn’t mean it will fit perfectly.  All kids feet are different.  Some are wider and some are skinnier.  This allows me to fit my daughters shoe to her size in two different areas so we really can get a truer fit.  My daughter can also easily strap and unstrap and put these shoes on and off herself.

Here are all the Unique Features of KidOFit’s:

Barefoot Sole technology
Transparent soles, which enable viewing the child’s toes
Customized Fit System

-Elastic Collar

-Heel Strap

-Fitting Inserts
Ergonomic Design

-Anatomical shape

-Soft and flexible sole

-Smooth, seam-free interior

-Feather light materials

-Wide opening for easy on/off

Naturally, we needed to try out the shoes.  What better way to see how comfortable shoes are, than to spend the whole day walking around the zoo in them.  We were at the zoo four probably 5 hours without any complaining of tired feet!  Sounds like a win to me! In fact, I think she ran around more and hand more energy than I did!  Maybe I need more comfortable shoes! Think I can get a pair in my size?  I was not surprised though because between the soft and flexible sole, fitting inserts and customizable size they fit her perfectly.  I don’t think we have ever owned a pair of shoes that we could customize to fit so well.
