Take a regular old canvas tote bag and personalize it the way Marie-Laure did with her tutorial!

This tote bag is very cute! How did you dye the tote bag and how come you decided to use a natural dye?

I used Turmeric {it is a yellow spice you can find in any grocery store}. I always try to work with natural materials as much as I can and especially if the final result is the same.

Is the bag machine washable? Should the bag be washed separately or can it be washed with other clothing without the color running?

Yes, it is machine washable and the first time you should wash separately.

Including the dying process, how long did it take for you to make the bag?

I would say between the dying process {at least 2 hours}, the drying {depending of the tote bag size} and the final design when you create your own design with the stamps: 2 hours in 2 afternoons. The Perfect weekend project.

How important is it for moms to use fabric paint? Can they use any paint or do they have to use the fabric paint?

Fabric paint is the best for that project, especially if you want wash the tote bag or go outside with it. I will not recommend other paint for that DIY.
