In this week's meal plan post, I mentioned how last week, I didn't stick to the meal plan at all. I organised a baby shower for my sister in law and it ended up taking a bit more time to plan and replan as I got unexpectedly nervous as we approached the day.

Ladies don't typically get baby showers here, but they are starting to make appearances among the younger generation (as in my age. Am I young? Yes. I'll go for it.)

The shower ended up going really well, and happily I didn't have any major language blunders as I had to meander between speaking Dutch to the guests, English to the daddy to be, and Russian to my kid who was doing who knows what the entire time.

We played some games, teased the parents to be, and I of course went way overboard on the food and now have a two extra batches of these double chocolate cookies:

Yea, what self control? Psshh.

Now that we're on the topic of food, let's get into more of the What I Ate aspect of it besides the aforementioned cookies. Of course with the craziness of the shower, and now that we'll be celebrating Saint Nicholas Day on Saturday, a friend's birthday on the same day, and another Sister in Law's birthday on Sunday, this week has already started off as another chaotic one.

This all means that I have been majorly slacking on food photographs. Or at least consistently throughout one day! Instead, I'm sharing random eats from this week and last week:

Breakfast: Pumpkin oatmeal bake

Yea, pretty fabulous. We're still loving on pumpkin, and this was such an easy and tasty pumpkin dish! Not paleo again, but certainly light so I can't say I'm complaining!

Lunch: Paleo breakfast hash?

Did you catch that? It's a breakfast hash. For lunch. Yea, I don't really distinguish between breakfast and lunch or even dinner anymore. All times of day are perfect for savory meals now that I am having a love affair with paleo. Can't say that my husband minds this aspect of it either.

This hash contained broccoli, bacon, onion, sweet potatoes, and eggs. Delicious and entire family approved! A brother in law, my mother in law, my toddler and I all shared and everyone loved it! Yay!

Dinner: Paleo pasta sauce

A husband request. It was delicious, and all from scratch. I'll be posting a recipe soon-ish, but basically just browned meat, added pureed tomatoes (not tinned, but fresh), and some veg. Mr. Toddler even approved. Another Mommy win!

As always, I am linking up for WIAW hosted by Jenn at Peas and Crayons!
