When I used to think of La-Z-Boy, I for one, thought of the cozy recliners that we all know and love. BUT, I learned on our visit to our La-Z-Boy store that they have so much more to offer! Stylish furniture, chic accessories, rugs, wall art - you name it! Take a look for yourself -
A few weeks ago I told you about my wonderful family room re-design. We worked with one of the wonderful La-Z-Boy interior designers to create our dream family room. We sat, chatted and went over all the things we were looking for for our new family room.
Function. First off, we wanted it to function well for our family. We weren't looking for that untouchable room. You know, the pretty one you don't ever sit on the couch? We are in this room probably 90% of the time - playing, watching movies and just plain ol' hanging out.
Storage. With two young children there are tons of toys in our family room and we wanted to be able to tuck them away when playtime is done and enjoy our room without the toys scattered on the floor. So, we needed some storage.
Family. We also wanted to of course include family photos in our room and thought it would be great if we could also tie in our love for traveling. Before we had children it was something my husband and I did often and we hold those memories dear to our heart and want to carry that love for travel on with our children.
Fun. I was so tired of all the dark colors in our home. They were warm and comforting but dreary and didn't give our home the fun, exciting and energetic vibe I wanted it to have. BUT, while I wanted it to have a fun style I also wanted it to be relaxing and soothing. I also wanted to tie in our love for travel somehow in the space.
Our wonderful designer took these 4 key takeaways and literally made magic happen. A couple of days after our sit down she came back to us with an amazing design.

Gorgeous isn't it?! Literally every one of our wants were met, and met with beautiful style and functionality.
The couch and love seat are La-Z-Boy Delaney from the new Urban Attitudes Collection in a fabric called Reaction.
We added the beautiful platinum nail head accents, La-Z-Boy can add these accents for you to just about any piece of furniture. I just love the style of the Delaney sofa and love seat, they are stylish, modern and comfortable for everyday lounging.
The cushions are fully stuffed, durable cozy and don't lose their shape.
The fabric is also kid friendly, they've been spit-up on and spilled on and it wipes away clean just using a wet cloth.
Our beautiful Jazz accent chair ties in the super fun floral pattern called Chrysanthemum adds a great pop of color to the room.
The rug is super chic and has a great Southwestern-ish design with fun colors. Also, it will be easy to hide any stains on. Thank goodness there are none yet! It's' also incredibly soft, perfect for the girls to sit and play on :)
The ottomans are perfect for storage (toy boxes!) but also double as a table when you turn the top over, its a tray! They are covered in La-Z-Boy's new Renew Leather and are super durable and environment friendly because it is made from recycled leather scraps.
The gorgeous mirrored chest has drawers perfect for storing small toys.
Also, she tied in our love for travel beautifully! See this picture of the Eiffel tower? It completly takes me back to our honeymoon every time I look at it.
And this gorgeous map artwork on our wall is the most beautiful piece of artwork I've ever owned. Just look at it and the frame it's in!
Each piece in our room goes together so beautifully. The colors are fun yet calming, there's texture, depth and it's so functional for my family. I can easily pack away all the toys and host a party for the adults or turn it into fun central for family nights.
Our designer put such love and care into designing our room. She really took each of our wants and needs and blew us away with the results. I love our family room, it's ground central for us and we spend lots of wonderful family time together in it - in comfort and in style.
