The holiday season brings about frantic thoughts of how to gift those that we hold dear. It can be especially difficult to find the right gift for those who seem to have all they need. It’s even more difficult to gift someone who doesn’t tell you what it is they may have on their ‘wishlist’.

That’s what this gift guide is for, your hard-to-buy-for family and friends. The ideas include DIY, budget-conscious as well as some splurges.

Most of these gifts are meant as combo gifts – couples, grandparents and families. There are options that are for individuals as well, and the ideas can be tweaked for male and female.

I have put together 5 Gifts that (almost) Anyone Would Love.

One note – there are a couple of affiliate links included via Amazon.com. If you happen to click and purchase via these links, you’re supporting the ol’ blog a bit and I thank you in advance!

Fitness band, with style.

The Fitbit is one of the higher-rated fitness trackers available. The Fitbit Flex offers tracking of activity during the day and your quality of sleep at night. It’s a gift that would help a person with the simplest of health and fitness goals from being more active and getting extra quality hours of sleep to the full-on exercise, weight-loss goals. You can get the Fitbit Flex for under $100, right now is the time to shop for these items with Cyber Monday (week) on the horizon.

What I also love about the Fitbit, is you can splurge a bit and make it fashionable with bracelets and/or a necklace that allow for inserting the tracker for yourself or a favorite fitness focused woman in your life. It is far more likely that the device will stay on a gal who enjoys coordinating her accessories with what she’s wearing, if you offer her an option that allows for keeping your tracker on at all times, am I right?

This is on my personal wishlist this year.

Custom Gift for the Home

I recently stumbled upon Morgan Hill Designs. Their personalized, custom wood products are swoon-worthy. I recently purchased two of their custom cutting boards via Groupon.com and I am so stoked to order these items for loved ones. My other favorite is their personalized wine cork keeper. At $45.00 it would be a lovely gift for the wine lover in your family.

The only issue here is timing. It is close to Christmas, which means it’s likely Morgan Hill, being a small business, may not get your custom item to you on time. They have stated this on their site.

So, for a next best – I would try Things Remembered – they also offer custom cutting boards - I love this lazy-susan version – anything with varied uses is a win in my book. And, with the holiday sales, you may find a way to whittle down their steep price point.

A New Year, a New Focus on Happiness

I love books and movements that inspire others to focus on the joy in their lives. And, if they help someone accomplish their new year resolutions, even better! The Happiness Project and Happier at Home books by Gretchen Rubin are such a lovely way to offer this gift of renewed focus on joy, simplicity and love in your home.

Photograph Gifts

I am a huge fan of gifting with pictures each and every holiday season. I can’t steer myself away from a holiday card with photos and I absolutely love choosing my favorite photos from the year past to create a calendar, mug or set of magnets. These are easy, go-to options. I adore this Heart Snapshot from Minted - I’ve been eyeing it for a while and trying to decide if I should purchase it, or simply mock it up myself with real prints. I think it’s possible to DIY this, but I’m going to watch sales just in case.

I’m also considering this little gem from Ryan Greenleaf - it’s completely DIY.

Choose a letter/monogram, a few photos and adhesive materials and you’re golden! Check out his blog for the details.

We love to gift our friends, and at this stage in the game, we try to consider the little ones under their roof. But, with the need to be budget-conscious – I like to hunt down frugal ideas if I can. This allows me to create a thoughtful gift, but without breaking the bank.

I love this idea for a DIY Ice Cream Sundae kit from Family Bites. This would be perfect for several of our friends with young kids. You package up small amounts of toppings, choose some waffle cones and bowls, wrap each in cellophane and voila!

Add a custom printed label to your gift to finish out your gift and you have a thoughtful, yet inexpensive expression of love for the friends and families you cherish most. I love these labels from Lia Griffith - they have a chalkboard feel and when you add a bit of ribbon, it really finishes things off nicely for an edible gift.

What is your go-to gift for family and friends when they already have everything they truly need?
