Dream Builders.

Walt Disney was the ultimate dream builder. He created something that has stood the test of time and fulfilled the dreams and fantasies of many.

These quotes were all over Disney when we went recently.  Signs that doled out quick snippets of inspiration. Signs that were reminders to me that I’m on the right path at this moment in my life.

I think I loved them more than seeing Mickey… but not more than seeing the faces of my children light up when he came by or when they were able to touch Tinkerbell and Vidia’s wings. The pure magic on their face was priceless to say the least.

But, as a woman who is diving into a whole new world and career field these last 4 years, it took everything I had not to keep snapping photos of all of these little nuggets of wisdom and inspiration.

What I love about the above quote is that it truly reflects what this blogging/social media space is – a consistently changing horizon that we must keep our eyes focused on in order to keep up. It is the future and it will continuously change. That is the only certain thing about this space.

For example, Facebook. The only thing certain about that platform is that they will change the
damn
algorithm for how people “see” you. I may or may not have moments of frustration with that….But, I’ve learned the only consistent parts of Facebook are:

1.) It is likely to remain one of the most popular social media platforms for the foreseeable future and therefore a vital element to seeing your online aspirations to fruition (and even offline aspirations).

2.)  It will constantly change. You will always have to adapt your social strategy (add photos, allow previews, only include links, pay for advertisements, put links in comments, allowances for text in your header) to make it work. You will never have it all completely figured out.

But, that’s what I love about social media, blogging and this online space. The change is something I thrive off of. Sure, I get overwhelmed like anyone else, but at the same time, I am invigorated by the potential for personal and professional growth. It’s fantastic.

Plain and simple.

So, as Walt Disney states up there – I plan to keep my aim focused on the future while maintaining quality in the present.

Granted, I’m a mother of three young children, a military spouse and human… I will have ‘epic fail’ days and weeks, but it’s not about the failures, its about how dust yourself off, pick yourself back up and you learn and grow from them.

So, while my kids enjoyed Dumbo and hugging Tinkerbell, I still didn’t quite escape this space, even though I was unplugged most of the time. I always came back to it.

I’m guessing that’s what they call passion for your profession?
