2014-01-04

So, new year, new you? Or new year, same you…but with big plans to get fit, keep motivated & take some time out for yourself?  Either way, a weekend away with friends, or on your own, at a ‘fitness’ retreat could be just what is needed to kick start your 2014.  Here’s a few ideas that Mojomums think look like great fun…

Yoga weekend

How about a refreshing autumn digital detox and yoga weekend in Suffolk in October?  You’ll stay in a beautiful 16th Century grade 2 listed house just outside the village of Lavenham, which is probably one of the most picturesque medieval villages you will come across

On this yoga weekend you are invited to switch off your phones, leave your ipads and laptops behind and enjoy three days of peace and quiet in the countryside.  This is quality time for you, where you wont be disturbed by emails, texts and to do lists!  Sounds like bliss!

Popular teacher Isaac Mullins will lead your yoga classes and take you on quiet walks around private grounds where you’ll work with mindfulness techniques and tune into nature and the wonderful autumnal colours, sights and sounds.  Isaac says “Our peaceful rural location is the perfect place to be without distraction. The yoga and mindfulness walks will aid your mind to slow down so that you can move into a state of being instead of doing”

Also included is at least 1 day of off-site activitie throughout your stay. All of the activities are ‘challenge by choice’ and these range from gorge walking through rivers and waterfalls, abseiling, zip wires, canoeing and even stand up paddle boarding and surfing if you choose Spain

Spa Weekends

We are sure many of you have visited a spa for a few hours of me-time, so why not spoil yourself and increase it to a night or two’s break away at a luxury spa hotel.  With so many to chose from all over the UK it’s hard to pick our favourites but here are a few…

The Four Seasons in Hampshire has a spa that is every bit as special as the hotel itself.  Housed in an 18th century stable block, surrounded by heritage listed gardens and countryside, even the spa is insired by nature. Signature treatments include Lavender, Rosemary and Mint Back Treatment and a Deeply Warming Clove and Eucalyptus Massage with ingredients hand picked from the herb garden adjacent to the Spa

Four Seasons Spa Treatment Room

Greyshott Spa offers overnight stays with a choice of either 5 Spa Treatment packages (Holistic, De-stress, Top to Toe, New Body and Recuperation) or the option of an à la Carte package where you choose your own preferred treatments. The atmosphere of Grayshott is relaxed and the dress code is casual; a robe and slippers will be awaiting you in your room for use during your stay.  Focusing on the complete well-being of clients, the spa offers healthy lunches and dinners with a selection of herbal teas and mineral water available 24 hours a day
