You Can Make Hard Baked Eggs?

Hard Baked Eggs was not something I had thought of doing.  I love hard boiled eggs, and all that can be made from them, like egg salad, deviled eggs, and the like.  But honestly, I greatly disliked boiling them.  They are so touchy.  One minute extra and the yolks turn green.  One minute less and the yolks aren’t quite done.  This method however, makes perfect eggs without the mess, and in less time.  And the bonus is you can make a couple dozen at once, easily and quickly.

Hard Baked Eggs are Perfect for Easter Eggs

I love making Easter eggs.  Decorating them is never a chore, but boiling them hard is.  This year I’m going to make hard baked eggs so I can make more of them without all the fuss and the mess of the broken ones.  If the batches I’ve made are any indication, I won’t crack any hard baked eggs open and find the dye has colored the eggs themselves, which is a pet peeve of mine.

How to Make Hard Baked Eggs

Making these eggs is simple.  Decide how many you would like to make and arrange them on the rack, set in the middle, of a cold oven.  Place a cookie sheet under the eggs on the rack below, just in case any of them crack.  Close the oven and heat to 325 degrees F.  Start the timer right away, for 30 minutes.  When the eggs are done, gently place them into a bowl of ice water.  Let them cool, replacing the water if it gets warm.  Once cool, you may color them for Easter eggs, or peel them for recipes.

Easy to Peel Hard Baked Eggs

When working with eggs, there’s nothing worse than peeling the eggs and having them look ugly because half the white peeled away with the shell.  I’ve tried just about everything to get them to peel well, such as fresh eggs, week-old eggs, and even vinegar in the water.  Nothing worked.  Hard baked eggs, however, seem to peel easily and quickly, without peeling the white away with it.

Next time you need to have hard cooked eggs, forget about boiling them!  Hard baked eggs are easier, quicker, and perfect every time.

UPDATE:

Usually I peel my hard cooked eggs right when I make them, however this time, since I wasn’t ready to make anything with them, I dried them, put them back in the carton, and refrigerated them.  Chilling the eggs actually makes them EASIER TO PEEL!  So, when you make your hard baked eggs, toss them in the fridge for an hour or so for the easiest to peel eggs you’ve ever made!
