So I've started my own little business as a rideshare driver for both Uber and Lyft and I'll be bringing my office down to Bloomington for the 500 this weekend.

Any advice, warnings, suggestions for places for decent food etc.....from you fine locals? I got pretty much the only available, affordable hotel room I could get for Friday night(as it's the only night I'm staying over and all I need is a place to lay down for about 6-8 hours and a quick shower) at the Motel 6 on north Walnut. Other than that I've no plans other than driving drunken college kids and alumni around town for what promises to be good money.

There's a mexican place right next to the Motel 6 - La Charreada - not bad, fairly cheap, and super fast. I would avoid the Denny's, which is also right there in that area. If you've got time, there are lots of good food options in the downtown area - Trojan Horse, Crazy Horse, Opie Taylors, etc... (I'm getting hungry...)

As for advice and warnings about non-food related matters, there are a lot of one-way streets in Bloomington (near the campus area, every other street is one-way north/one-way south), and that seems to throw out-of-towners off. There are also a lot of very wealthy international students with very wealthy cars (Lambos, Maseratis, etc), who cannot drive said cars very well (because in the State of Indiana, you're allowed to drive on an international license for a whole year before you have to ever step foot in the BMV). Watch out for them. Oh, and students may randomly walk directly in your path, when you're driving, either because they're drunk and stupid or they're texting and not paying attention.

Other than that, you should be okay. And it should certainly be a profitable weekend, as there is no shortage of drunken folk, who have no business getting behind the wheel of a car, in this town.

Bon Chance!
