James McQuivey is a vice president and principal analyst at Forrester Research and the author of Digital Disruption: Unleashing the Next Wave of Innovation. He is the leading analyst tracking the development of digital disruption and develops consumer models to help companies understand the power of digital consumers and strategy models to help companies in every industry prepare to serve those newly empowered consumers. His travels to meet with clients have sent him to Oslo, San Diego, Barcelona, Anchorage, and nearly everywhere else on the planet. James came to Forrester from a happy life in academia. He was a graduate fellow at Syracuse University's acclaimed S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications where he earned his Ph.D. He also taught at Boston University.

Scott Burnell leads business development and partner management efforts for the mobile industry at Ford Motor Company. By creating partnerships with mobile apps publishers and developers, wireless network operators, and handset device manufacturers Scott drives Ford's in-vehicle connectivity initiatives.

Prior to joining Ford, Scott had a successful career in the wireless industry. As the Director of Mobile Content for Wireless Developer Agency he assembled and led the mobile apps team at the largest content aggregator in North America. He was instrumental in launching hundreds of apps across dozens of storefronts and coordinating the mobile efforts for brands and publishers such as E! Entertainment, Maxim, and Turner Networks.

Before moving to the content side of the industry Mr. Burnell launched both retail and indirect sales channels for wireless operators such as Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile, increasing each company's national footprint, sales and end user support. Scott received numerous national awards for his efforts in laying the groundwork for today's distribution channels by implementing progressive initiatives surrounding talent acquisition, sales training, reporting, and cross channel marketing programs.

Kevin Gage joined the National Association of Broadcasters as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in May 2011. Kevin leads NAB's technology efforts, including oversight of the staff that represents NAB on a variety of standard-setting organizations and serves as the liaison to the engineering and technology community.

Kevin has led the formation of NAB Labs as well as development of the NAB Labs Technology Committees. He is also a member of the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) Board of Directors.

Kevin's career includes time at Warner Bros. Studios, where he helped develop the DVD specification and production facilities at the film studio. While at Warner Bros., Kevin helped launch The WB Network and was a founding member of the Advanced Television Enhancement Forum (ATVEF), a cross-industry initiative that developed standards for interactive TV. Kevin later became head technologist at Warner Music Group, where he oversaw creation of new digital platforms and standards for products that included iTunes. While at NBC Universal, Kevin was responsible for developing online TV strategies.

Kevin is the author of three patents on distributing multimedia programs. He previously was a member of the DVD Forum Technical Board and Steering Committee and served on the board of directors of the Recording Industry Association of America and the Mobile Entertainment Forum. A 1984 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Science, Kevin was born in Virginia and raised in California. He is married and the father of three children.

Bernhard Grill was born in Schwabach, Germany, in 1961. He received a M.S. (Diplom) degree in electrical engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. In 2001 Bernhard Grill attained his Ph.D. in electrical engineering.

During his work at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg he contributed to the development of several perceptual audio coder systems. These include OCF, ASPEC, MPEG-1/2 Audio Layer-3 (mp3) and MPEG-2 Advanced Audio Coding (AAC). Furthermore, he was editor of MPEG-4 Audio and project leader for the development of the MPEG Unified Speech and Audio Codec (today known as xHE-AAC). He is currently Head of the Audio and Multimedia division at Fraunhofer IIS and leads a team of around 200 engineers and researchers. Examples of current work items within his division are Fraunhofer Cingo for virtual surround sound, Fraunhofer Symphoria for automotive 3D audio, AAC-ELD for telephone calls with CD-like audio quality, and Dialog Enhancement to allow TV viewers to adjust dialog loudness as they desire. In July 2011 Bernhard Grill has been promoted to Deputy Director of Fraunhofer IIS. The honours and awards Bernhard Grill received include the 'Joseph-von-Fraunhofer-Preis' that he and two colleagues were presented with in 1992 for contributions to the mp3 development. In September 2000 he received the Fellowship Award of the Audio Engineering Society for his work on MPEG-4 Audio and scalable audio coding. In October 2000, he and two colleagues were honored with the 'German Future Award' of the German President for their work on mp3.

Paul is also SVP/Chief Technology Officer for Emmis Communications, one of the founding members of the BTC. Paul joined Emmis from an IT consulting firm, DataShare Corporation, in 1998. He holds a Masters degree in Information Systems as well as degrees in E-Business and Electronic Engineering Technologies. He currently serves on the FCC Communication, Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council (CSRIC) working group for EAS CAP and is an active member of the NAB�s Digital Radio Committee. HD chip developer SiPort also utilizes Paul's industry expertise as a member of their Board of Advisors.

James is a radio futurologist, and is Managing Director of Media UK, the UK's free media resource.

James has worked in radio since 1989 as an award-winning copywriter, presenter, and internet advisor. In 2001 he joined the original Virgin Radio in London, where he was Digital Media Director: launching the world's first radio smartphone app in March 2005. In 2007 he joined the BBC to work on the BBC iPlayer for radio, achieving a dramatic increase in the service's audio quality. Since leaving the BBC in 2009, he has worked for a variety of businesses, including the receiver manufacturer Pure, UK Radioplayer and Radioplayer Worldwide, OXIS Media, Absolute Radio and talkSPORT, and a variety of European media companies; helping them focus on the benefits and challenges that new platforms bring to their business.

He is one of the organizers of nextrad.io, the radio conference for 'people that do' each September. He is a Trustee of the pan-industry body The Radio Academy. He has served as a judge for a number of industry awards including the Australian ABC Local Radio Awards, the UK Student Radio Awards, and the Sony Radio Academy Awards, where he has also served on the committee. He was a founder of the hybrid radio technology association RadioDNS.
