The famous Taxi booking service Ola has now launched the e-rickshaw booking service in Delhi NCR region. The service has introduced 5100 E-Rickshaws during the announcement. India’s PM Narendra Modi on April 5 launched the same as a part of “Stand up India” initiative.
Ola will charge a commission of 10 per cent from rickshaw owners. However, it will not charge any convenience fees from users as do in the case of auto rickshaws. The fare, however, will differ from city to city. Users will have to pay Rs 25 for two kilometres and Rs 8 per km.s
Now, the question is, how the riders will pay to Ola’s new E-Rickshaw service? Ola’s digital wallet Ola Money will be available in addition to the pay by cash option. In partnership with Freecharge Ola also launched a Chat-n-Pay platform which enables the users to pay via chat with rickshaw drivers.
