According to a new study by research firm Gartner, the growth of mobile advertising spending in the Asia Pacific region will slow down between 2012 and 2017, averaging 30 percent a year.  Looking forward, the firm expects the high-growth economies of China and India to contribute increasingly to mobile advertising growth as their expanding middle classes present attractive markets for global and local brands.  Read Original Content

South Korea has announced a $1.7 billion plan to roll out a next-generation 5G wireless service within six years.  The government hopes to implement the plan with investment and co-operation from operators such as SK Telecom and Korea Telecom as well as handset makers such as Samsung and LG.  Read Original Content

A new report from the China Internet Network Information Center reveals the number of users accessing the Internet in China grew by 53 million in 2013, reaching 618 million by the end of the year.  The report claims as many as 500 million of these users are accessing the Internet via a smartphone or tablet device.  Read Original Content
