Stratotainment announced today elements of the storyline for Battle Isle: Threshold Run, a new turn-based strategy game in the Battle Isle franchise, will be revealed in a comic book via online weekly installments.  The first episode in the comic series officially launched July 17, 2013 and the countdown on the Stratotainment websitewww.stratotainment.com/thresholdrun will serve as a reminder for each new episode, at Noon (U.S. Central Time), every Wednesday for the next 6 weeks.

The storyline is written by acclaimed author Matt Forbeck. “It’s both an honor and fun to work with a legend like Thomas on re-imagining a monumental title like  Battle Isle.” Forbeck (www.forbeck.com) is no stranger to computer games and has designed collectible card games, role-playing games, miniatures games, board games, and logic systems for toys and has directed voiceover work and written short fiction, comic books, novels, screenplays, and computer game scripts and stories for many publishers over the years.

Vignettes for the Battle Isle: Threshold Run comic are created by Billy Garretsen from Thunderdog, who also happens to be the Art Director for the game. Garretsen commented “I have been developing concept art and building the world of the game with Thomas for months. The biggest challenge to creating the comic book has been balancing that effort with the game’s development. Illustration is a much different mindset than gameplay and systems design and jumping back and forth between the many roles has been especially demanding. Still, the results we are seeing are awesome, bringing a whole new take on the game’s characters and concepts. The comic is bringing me that much closer to the world of the game, which will definitely show in the final product. I think fans will like the results.”

Battle Isle: Threshold Run is due for release Q4 2013 on iOS devices. Further information can be found at www.stratotainment.com and www.facebook.com/thresholdrun and Twitter: @Stratotainment.
