Collars and Cuffs 05

by

K.C. Wells & Parker Williams

The man who pimped Jeff may be in prison, but Jeff is still living the nightmare, selling himself to men and relying on pills to manage. Then he meets Scott, a young American man who could easily have been where Jeff is now. Scott’s friends extend a helping hand to Jeff, and he grabs it.

Leo and Thomas bring Jeff to stay with Dom Damian Barnett until they can find him someplace more long-term. Still grieving from losing his sub to cancer two years before, Damian agrees to help. But when he glimpses the extent of the damage, Damian wants to do more than offer his guestroom. Jeff is not a submissive, but Damian can see he desperately needs structure in his life.  It’s up to Damian to find an answer.

He never expects that what he discovers will change both their lives.

“Jeff! Please, wait up!”

The voice behind me was clearly American. I turned to see this kid running toward me. I’d never seen him before in my life. He was small and looked pretty young, maybe fifteen, sixteen, with red hair and really blue eyes. I tensed, looking around swiftly to see if there was anyone else with him, but he seemed to be on his own.

“Look, I think you’ve got the wrong person,” I said as he caught up to me. “I don’t know you.”

His face fell. “But… you are Jeff, aren’t you?”

I gave a brief nod. “But I’ve no idea how you could know that.” I frowned. This wasn’t good.

“But I’m Scott,” he said, as if that explained everything.

I shrugged. “Look, I’m sorry, but like I said, I don’t know you.”

This stubborn expression crossed his face, and I knew he wasn’t about to give up easily.

“You sent me your picture. You sent me a first-class plane ticket to bring me from the States to be with you.” Then this expression came into his eyes, like he was hurting or something. “You told me you loved me, that you’d take care of me. And then when I arrived, you weren’t there.”

Oh fuck. My heart sank. Will I ever be free of that man’s grasp? Even in prison, that bastard is still fucking up my life.

Damian

I LOVED it when it was evening and all was quiet and peaceful. No traffic noise intruded into the house, and in the lounge, the only sound was the slow ticking of the clock on the mantelpiece. Give me a mechanical clock any day. Not that I had anything against more modern timepieces, but there was something soothing about the sound. The clock had been my grandmother’s, and I took loving care of it, making sure it was oiled and wound. Right then my evening was perfect: the tick of the clock, a glass of Cabernet on the table next to me, and a worn, hardcover Sherlock Holmes novel in my hands. I’d lost count of how many times I’d read The Hound of the Baskervilles, but re-reading a favorite book was a warm, comforting experience. The wine created a warm glow inside me. I took another sip.

And then my phone rang.

The temptation to ignore its clamoring call was huge. I was happy, comfortable, and anyone ringing me at home during the evening had to want something. All my friends knew my routines, especially since Oliver….

I closed my eyes. I could almost hear that edge of amusement in his voice. “You going to answer that, Sir?” And yes, I could see the gleam in his eye as he awaited my reaction, tense in nervous anticipation. Brat loved pushing my buttons. With a sigh, I picked up the call.

“Damian? It’s Leo. We need your help.”

I placed the wine on the table. “What can I do for you?” My interest was piqued immediately. It had been quite a while since the co-owner of my BDSM club had called me at home.

“Sorry to disturb you, but you were the first person I could think of. We have a boy. He’s nineteen, and he needs help.”

About K.C. & Parker

K.C. Wells:

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C.Wells always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way.

K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, where the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings – writing about men in love was even hotter…

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career.

The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

K.C. can be reached via email (k.c.wells@btinternet.com), on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/KCWellsWorld), on Twitter (@IslandTalesPres or through comments at the K.C.Wells website (www.kcwellsworld.com ) K.C. loves to hear from readers.

Parker Williams:

Parker Williams began to write as a teen, but never showed his work to anyone. As he grew older, he drifted away from writing, but his love of the written word moved him to reading. A chance encounter with an author changed the course of his life as she encouraged him to never give up on a dream. With the help of some amazing friends, he rediscovered the joy of writing, thanks to a community of writers who have become his family.

Parker firmly believes in love, but is also of the opinion that anything worth having requires work and sacrifice (plus a little hurt and angst, too). The course of love is never a smooth one, and Happily Ever After always has a price tag.

Review: This story is part of a series and is best read in order, but it can also be read as a stand-alone. Jeff has been alone since he was sixteen; he’s lived on the streets of Manchester since and fell into the hands of a monster. With the man now in prison it doesn’t mean that Jeff’s nightmare has ended, selling himself and popping pills is the only way he can manage until he meets Scott, a young American who nearly feel into the same trap as Jeff. Damian agrees to look after the young man who has been treated appallingly, Damian still grieves for the sub he lost to cancer and he has no intention of taking on a new sub, and a Dom isn’t what Jeff needs. When Damian discovers what Jeff really needs can he be the man to give it to him, and will Jeff ever trust Damian enough to accept the structure he so desperately needs?

This is a great addition to the Collars and Cuffs series that delves into Domestic Discipline. This story over laps or runs parallel to Someone to Keep Me & A Dance With Domination, which means that some peripheral scenes are connected. Jeff is struggling to survive when he meets Scott, when Jeff admits the story behind his ‘contact’ with Scott Scott calls his friends to help Jeff out. Jeff wants nothing to do with BDSM, he has been hit and abused enough but what he finds with Damian proves to be just the thing he really needs. Damian hasn’t been interested in finding a new sub and has no intention of taking one on, but he recognises that Jeff needs something and he strikes on the perfect solution.

Jeff struggles but finds himself feeling more secure and he begins to develop feelings for Damian that go further than friendship, Damian struggles to keep his feelings for Jeff in control as Jeff heals from his emotional and mental wounds. Their relationship has its ups and downs as Jeff deals with his past and the urge to turn to pills to make it all go away, and Damian deals with moving on from his grieving for his deceased sub. The way that this story was written was wonderful, the discovery for Damian that he was looking for someone to take care of and nurture rather than full out dominate was an eye-opener for him and the gentle but firm way that he dealt with Jeff was perfect for what the younger man needed.

I really like this story and the way it was gently directed towards Domestic Discipline & Taken in Hand, it’s a subject that is debated about as to whether it really is a BDSM subgenre or something else altogether, as with so many other things people’s views differ with some people in a Domestic Discipline relationship swearing it has nothing to do with BDSM and some in a Taken in Hand relationship swearing they have nothing to do with either BDSM or Domestic Discipline…. So it was nice to see someone write about a subject that isn’t well known and has some aspects of D/s, but it’s one that is developed and works for the people in the relationship.

Damian and Jeff make for a very interesting couple, their relationship is one built on friendship and trust and both men have things that they have to work out for themselves. Jeff makes impressive progress throughout the story with only a couple of setbacks and Damian is like a solid rock willing to wait for as long as it takes. We also get to see the other couples in the Collars and Cuffs series, and there are some not to miss scenes for those who adore Alex and Leo, and Peter and Thomas. So yeah I was very happy with this story and the characters, K.C. Wells and Parker Williams make for a very good team and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next.

I recommend this to those who love D/s relationships that focus on guidance and nurturing, fighting to overcome the past, finding new love and a very happy ending.
