Five minutes later there was a knock on the door of the private playroom. Then Ryan opened it and came in. He was still wearing those see-through plastic shorts, and up close in the bright lights, Deke got more than an eyeful.
“You wanted to play, sir?” Ryan asked.
Deke stared at him. The new piercing glinted in the lights, the nipple still swollen and red. The other nipple was peaked and hard in the chilly room.
“If you’re going to Petrov’s place, you should take another camera. Place it in any room we couldn’t get one in yet.”
“Okay.”
Deke handed Ryan the camera; it was small enough to drop into a shoe or boot. Good thing, since there was no way he could hide it in the see-through shorts. “You remember how they work?”
“Yes, you told me five times.”
“Fine.”
“Sit down.” Ryan nodded toward the bench.
“Why?”
“You have to do something. I can’t go back out there without a few new marks or people will get suspicious.”
Deke glanced around at the whips and riding crops and floggers. “I don’t know how to use any of this stuff.”
“Then just spank me. Leave some good handprints.” Ryan peeled the plastic shorts down and Deke stared, trying to pull himself together. Ryan put a towel over his lap and lay down, completely naked, across Deke.
The red welts on Ryan’s ass and thighs caught Deke’s gaze. He ran his fingertips across them, feeling the warmth of the skin where Ryan had been caned or hit with the crop. Ryan squirmed on his lap.
“Sorry,” Deke whispered. A moment later he realized he hadn’t hurt Ryan. Instead, Ryan’s cock hardened against Deke’s thigh. Deke’s cock responded. Ryan could probably feel it against his stomach, and Deke froze for a moment. Then he looked down at Ryan’s perfectly shaped ass and the welts and raised his hand and brought it down on one cheek with a loud slap.
Ryan’s hips jerked. Deke watched the spot turn pale pink. He put an identical mark on the other cheek, then rubbed the spots like he’d learned. Curious after his session with Roy, Deke had looked up how to give a proper spanking, just in case he had to administer another. Deke rubbed Ryan’s ass for a few moments. The welts made lines across his handprints, and he liked the way the raised flesh felt under his fingers. He wondered how they’d get past this moment, but Ryan straightened up, face flushed, cock still jutting from his body. Deke tried to look away but ended up catching Ryan’s gaze.
They stared at each other for a moment, sharing something neither would say out loud.

Review: Bound for Trouble, by E.M. Lynley, is a fast paced, never slowing down for the twists or turns, novel that will have you glued to the pages. Ms. Lynley has taken a story that we read about often, but added a new level of intrigue. With her own spin to the details, it soon becomes a new story with fresh dialogue and crazy-about-you characters. As you have read from the blurb above, the story has some BDSM content. I know some of you are weary when you see those 4 letters, however, I feel justified in saying, don’t let that keep you from this story. While there are some BDSM elements included, they are tastefully and artfully done. The author proves, once again, that she knows how to weave a story with detail and description that will keep you, in the moment, from start to end.
Ryan Griffiths is an emotional, heart-on-his-sleeve, kind of guy. He was kicked out from his home after the discovery of his sexuality, and he has basically lived on the streets for 10 years. Not only is this cruel and unjust punishment, for anyone, but for Ryan, it only induced his mind, even more, to feel alone and unwanted. No choice but to bail from college when his dad chose to no longer support him, that action left him feeling less worthy than he already felt. He turned to prostituting to make his money and thru no fault of his own due to circumstances out of his control, with a dead John on his conscience, he finds himself in more trouble than he can deal with. Luckily, he has a client who helps him by giving him a job in a grocery store, sees to it that he gets counselling, gives him a place to stay, so why can’t he be content? He thrives from the atmosphere he gets at the clubs, quenching his thirst for attention. When he gets a chance to help out the FBI, which includes going back into the club environment, he takes it. Will he be able to keep a clear head, while there, and still do what the FBI needs? He feels he can, but it’s not long until he begins to thrive under his Dom’s care. One problem….his Dom is the one he needs to spy on which is getting harder as he begins to have feelings for him.
Deke Kane, under the strain and confusion, no agent in the FBI wants to find himself, is struggling to maintain his composure. After an operation gone bad, leaving dead victims at his feet from a botched investigation, he finds himself on desk duty and suffering from nightmares on a regular basis. He’s given an opportunity to redeem himself which he jumps on immediately. He knows he needs to perform at his highest to gain some faith and trust from his supervisors. He’s already lost his long-time partner when the coping became too heavy. He needs this, not only for his confidence but to bring balance back to his life. He never expected to find solace in his informant. Going undercover, pretending to be an interested Dom in the club, where Ryan has obtained a job, is giving him more pleasure than it should. These feelings of new discovery have left him confused on many levels. Ryan is a breath of fresh air to Deke, but he can’t help but wonder if it’s real or just Ryan falling back into his role of a good little rent-boy. As Deke and Ryan, both, skirt around their feelings for each other, Ryan is getting invested in his new role. He understands his purpose when he is being a sub and feels that is the only time he is worthy to a partner. Can Deke convince him otherwise, and show him he is worthy of love and compassion, for being himself? Or will this investigation set them farther apart, neither one admitting how they feel? There will come a time, leaving them both unprepared, when decisions are no longer in the equation. It’s now or never, holding your peace, will be a thing of the past.
There is nothing, more enlightening and enjoyable, than to read a story where all of your attention is consumed by the words on a page. E.M. Lynley has done that with this story, keeping you fully invested, while continually reaching for more. She writes with a clean and tight prose giving detail that puts you in the moment. She doesn’t write sex scenes that are numerous or cumbersome. As a matter of fact, the sex scenes, are not the prominent interest. She has included them when, and only if, the characters needed that connection. The foreplay between Deke and Ryan were incredible moments of passion and chemistry that leaped from the page. Sometimes you were left wanting, NO… needing more, but other times you were left feeling more than satisfied. There were times when I felt, have sex already, lol, but looking back, knowing what I know now, the author knew what she was doing. She knew it wasn’t what was needed in their situation. The characters strength and determination, to do the right thing, leave you feeling very fulfilled. You will feel proud to know them and maybe someday the author will follow-up with a sequel (Heh, hint, hint). I recommend this story to the reader who loves action-packed dialogue, a romance burning slowly in the background, but at the front and center, a well thought out plot with substance and strength. Graciously, the author gives us a twist at the end, closing the story with the feeling of………..Well, I guess you really should read to find out what happens. Trust me, it will be worth it.
