CHILDREN’S SERVICES SUPERVISOR
(Salary: $46,753; exempt; full benefits)
This professional management/supervisory position provides vision and leadership to assure children, their families and caregivers experience the joy of reading in a friendly, creative, dynamic Children’s Department at the Urbana Regional Library in Frederick County .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
– Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from an American Library Association accredited program – may accept candidates who are eligible to obtain MLS within 6 months of hire
– Minimum 2 years of professional or paraprofessional library work experience that includes 1 year in Children’s Services
– Minimum 1 year work experience in a supervisory and/or lead capacity role
-Professional Public Librarian certification from the Maryland State Department of Education or ability to obtain this certification within 6 months after hire with MLS degree or 12 months if in process of obtaining MLS degree– current certification must then be maintained.
