MLG Announces Online Qualifiers for X Games Aspen

MLG X Games Aspen Counterstrike: Global Offensive Online Qualifiers to take place December 8-21

NEW YORK (November 26, 2014) – MLG, the global leader in eSports is teaming up with MLG Brasil and CEVO for the MLG X Games Aspen Counterstrike: Global Offensive Online Qualifiers. Eight teams will compete in Aspen for X Games gold.Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Fnatic, and Cloud9 have accepted invitations and will be joined by the winners of five regional Online Qualifiers (2 Europe, 2 North America, and 1 Brazil).

MLG Brasil (www.MLGBrasil.tv), the first international MLG franchise, will host Brazil’s Online Qualifiers beginning with a 64-team Preliminary Qualifier December 8-14 from which the top 4 teams will qualify to compete against 4 invited teams in the Championship Qualifier on December 20th.  The winner of the Championship Qualifier will be invited to compete in Aspen.  Preliminary Qualifier registration will open here on Monday, December 1st at 3 PM BRT.

CEVO (www.cevo.com) will host the Online Qualifiers for Europe and North America.  Each Region will begin with a 128-team Preliminary Qualifier on December 14th from which the final 8 teams will qualify to compete against 8 invited teams in a Championship Qualifier December 15-18.  Qualification in both regions will continue with an additional 128-team Preliminary Qualifier on December 20th and an additional 16-team Championship Qualifier on December 21st. The winner of each Region’s Championship Qualifiers will be invited to compete in Aspen.  Preliminary Qualifier registration will open here on Sunday, December 7th at 12 PM EST and 6 PM CET.

From December 14-21, fans can watch all of the Online Qualifier action on MLG.tv across all platforms (www.MLG.tv, MLG.tv app for Xbox 360 and Xbox One, MLG.tv apps for iOS and Android devices).
