Chuck Booth’s 2015 MLB Park Historical Road Trip

The GOAL: 183 Straight Days (every single day at least 1 gm) Of ALL 30 MLB Parks Trip In 2015 (217 Games) view full year schedule.

The CAUSE:  To Raise Money for Concussion Awareness (via Sports Legacy Institute. donate money here) Through Inspiring Others.

So there are ups and downs in this trip as I have ventured out on this journey.  It is not just the baseball games that I am going to….I am trying to fully heal my body and brain after having a bad accident years ago where I was hit and run by a guy.

I have come back 97% to what I need to be, but every once in a while that 3% seeps into the foray.  I had one of those events yesterday.

Over the weekend, we hosted 35 ballpark chasers at my friend Ken Lee’s house in Renton.  This is virtually every extreme ballpark guru in the group across the nation, with the exception of a few omissions.  Ken and I sponsored a barbeque at his house in Renton, WA, USA (Home of Manfish Brewing) – and because of my free car rental days, I was able to secure transportation for all who needed shuttling around Saturday, Aug.22/2015.  I also drove for 7 hours around the city picking up the top ‘ballpark chasers’ of the country.

It was a grand old-time, and all of us had the time of our lives, however I probably kicked up the adrenaline too much, and Monday was a big let down.  I am feeling much better again at today.  The 2nd Annual Ballpark Chasers Meetup in Seattle was a resounding success, and we set the bar high for future venue’s hosting the event in future years.

The following people had a big impact on my weekend: Ken Lee, Scott Bultman JR, Gary Herman. Mike Casiano, Paul Nieuwland, Craig Landgren, Doug Miller, Josh Robbins, Mark Chesna, Tike and Dawn Narry – and of course the rest of the 35 people at the barbeque and 60 or so people at the actual games this weekend

Scott Bultman JR. on the left, Kenneth A. Lee in the middle and I am on the right – all enjoying $6 Tecate Beers in the Hit it Here Cafe at Safeco Field Monday Aug.24, 2015.

I am not going to lie…Going into week 21 of this trip has me nervous.  It is only 6 1/2 weeks until the finish line is crossed.  While I am still within budget, not earning money during this vacation has me a little bit ansy to put some dollars back on the board when I finish this venture.  Luckily I am beating my budget so far.

The last week saw me start the journey in Denver, then was followed by 6 straight games at Safeco Field.  During my plane excursion from Denver to Seattle, Delta Airlines paid me off with a $800 credit voucher – to take a flight just 3 hours later, and well within the realm of making it to the Emerald City in time for an official Mariners game.  That kind of maneuver is vital for any travel I may do next year. and also provides me with some flexibility to do some last second moves this late into the trek.

So now that I am near the end, it is also being a little more clear the final schedule of the MLB.  I have added 2 more doubleheaders back into the fold, and am now on pace to do my ‘original design’ this year of 219 total baseball games. Make sure you check out the links at the beginning or end of this blog.

After a little let down morning yesterday, I sprung back into action and am ready to tackle the last 40 days of this trip.
