Description

The idea of the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition is to attract innovative ideas and projects aiming to create positive change in your community and the world. The contest is supported by the The Goi Peace Foundation, Stiftung Entrepreneurship (Berlin) and UNESCO and serves to empower the young generation to take the initiative in social innovation and become pioneers in building a harmonious and sustainable society by highlighting the best examples of youth entrepreneurship.

All participants will receive free training at the online Entrepreneurship Campus. Thanks to the methods and techniques provided by the training, the participants can learn how to develop ideas into solid business models, how to turn a budding idea into a fully developed concept, or how to improve on an existing business model.

Who can apply?

Eligible are youth aged between 15 and 30 who speak good English and work on idea connected with  environment, education, health, poverty reduction, peace building, cultural diversity, sustainable energy, food security, sustainable trade, the elderly or empowerment of women and youth. You can also apply if you are operating such an enterprise in the form of a business, a non-profit organization, or an informal program. In addition, you are requested to submit your entries in one of the following two categories:

Best Ideas Category: Innovative ideas and plans for an enterprise (It must be a new and original idea yet to be fully implemented by the entrant or by others);

Best Projects Category: Already existing enterprise which has demonstrated social impact.

Submissions from teams are welcome. However, the idea may only be submitted by one team member. In the same time, you may submit more than one idea/project entry and you are welcome to enter ideas or projects which have won other prizes or competitions.

Prize

There will be Grand Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize as well as People’s Choice Award in the two categories. The winners of Best Ideas Category are going to have their ideas implemented, whereas an award will be given also to the already existing enterprises which have demonstrated social impact.

Winners will be announced on the competition website, as well as the Goi Peace Foundation and UNESCO websites. Finalists not chosen as prize winners will receive honorable mention. The Grand Prize winners and the People’s Choice Prize winners will be invited to the award ceremony during the Entrepreneurship Summit in Berlin in October 2014. Here, they will present their ideas and activities to an international audience.

How to apply?

Complete the entry form and submit it online. Entries may only be submitted in English (Click to download the Entry form for ideas or the Entry form for projects).

Entries will be reviewed by the competition administrators, and only those that meet a certain standard and pass the preliminary screening will be nominated and published on the competition website. You will receive a message from us confirming that your entry has been nominated. If your entry does not pass the screening, you will have a chance to brush it up and submit it again.
