Description

The Institute of Cancer Research, based in London, is one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes, with an outstanding record of achievement dating back more than 100 years. The ICR is currently announcing 13 fully-funded PhD studentships available for science graduates in the area of Cancer Research.

Successful candidates will undertake a world-class, four-year research training programme under the guidance of an expert supervisory team and they will start the PhD program in October 2015. The studentship projects will be in the following divisions:

Division of Breast Cancer Research

Division of Cancer Therapeutics

Division of Molecular Pathology (including the Centre for Evolution and Cancer)

Division of Radiotherapy and Imaging (including the Department of Physics)

Division of Structural Biology

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to apply for a PhD at the ICR candidates must:

Posses or expect to obtain a degree (undergraduate degree or a Masters degree) in biological sciences, physics, chemistry, maths, statistics, genetics, epidemiology or computer sciences;

Have experience of relevant laboratory or research work;

Demonstrate a proficiency in English ( IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent).

Scholarship

The selected students will receive a annual stipend of £21,000, as well as having fees and project costs paid for the four-year duration.
