Day excursion to Lawrence Welk Resort
If you are interested in taking a fun-filled excursion, register for a trip to the Lawrence Welk Resort on Sunday, April 13.

Lawrence Welk was a musician, accordionist, bandleader and television impresario who hosted “The Lawrence Welk Show” from 1955 to 1982. His namesake resort is tucked away in a secluded valley just north of San Diego.  The trip, which takes off from the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, includes lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory and time spent at the museum before the performance of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”

Challenge of Caregiving

Making the Moments Count is a “how-to” presentation video for caregivers of loved ones suffering from Alzheimer’s to lighten the load, hearts and spirits of family and friends. The free program is at 3:30 p.m. on the second Thursday the month.

The Path to Mental Clarity

Enjoy mental clarity through mindful meditation exercises and healthy food selections in this program that takes place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 6. Hearing Loss Association of America

Toni Barrient, retired director of member services and chapter development, HLAA, will discuss maximizing the use of hearing aids equipped with T-coils and will demonstrate devices for noisy environments. The program is at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 10.

Does Everybody Have Arthritis?

“Arthritis” is an umbrella term used for more than 100 medical conditions. The most common form, osteoarthritis (OA), is most prevalent in people over 60. It can start as early as infancy with wide-ranging conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system, specifically the joints. St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon

Community Classes and Events

Breakfast with Gary and Kelly

The livecast begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 8 with special guest artist guitarist and composer Chris Standring the audience will be admitted for the 10 a.m. to noon portion, and the final hour will be videotaped for later broadcast on the city’s MVTV Channel 30 and Saddleback College Channel 39. Learn to Sew Adults

Succulent Wreath

This class at 3:30 p.m. on March 23 will provide hands-on learning to create and care for your own long-lasting living wreath. Wreaths provided are 11” galvanized metal frame, filled with moss. Chair Yoga

In Chair Yoga, students will receive the health and fitness benefits of yoga by improving their flexibility and strength and creating a calm mind and peaceful spirit.
