Plans for the redevelopment of a school located just outside Edgware are all set to move forward, following the news that a contractor has been selected for the design and build.
After a planning period of four years, Willmott Dixon Construction is the company that will draw up plans for Borehamwood’s new Hertswood Academy. It is set to see the lower and upper sites that already exist transformed into one facility for both communal and educational use – which will be situated at Cowley Hill.
Peter Gillett, the head teacher at the school, told Times Series that pupils would continue to enjoy a strong educational environment during the period that the redevelopment was taking place, adding that:
“The key driver in our journey to becoming a world-class academy is the strength of the partnership between students, staff and parents and I have no doubt we will continue on our steep improvement curve with the work we do together.”
Willmott Dixon pre-construction manager, Mike Page, stated that the autumn of 2019 was the scheduled date for work on the project to be finished, with the detailed design work already having been started and planning consent having been secured.
Schools that are located in Edgware and the wider borough often choose to make use of places that can supply office stationery, so they have all of the admin materials needed.
