Hi friends! Happy New Year! I’m constantly looking for fresh wedding inspiration, and one of the things I turn to pretty often is home décor. Vogue recently ran a piece about decorating trends to look for in 2017, with insights from three top interior designers (Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, Young Huh and Beth Diana Smith). Be sure to read the full piece here, but here are a few that I think will be especially relevant for weddings this year.

Green – With “Greenery” as Pantone’s Color of the Year, this one’s no surprise. For ideas on how exactly to use Greenery in your wedding, check out my post here.

Tropical Prints – Looks like tropical fabrics and wallpaper will be big this year. Tropical prints are lovely, but bold. Try using them as accents in your wedding – on your menus and place cards or small touches of décor throughout the event.

Geometrics – Vogue describes this as simple lines, geometrics and triangles. So chic! Think of clean lines in your wedding invitations or striking geometric lighting fixtures.

Quirky Lighting – A unique lamp or lighting fixture in your home really shows off your personality. In your wedding, think lanterns, chandeliers or another quirky piece to give your event some flare.

Bronze – According to Vogue, bronze will be big in lighting and accessories. Could this be the new rose gold? I love using metallics in weddings, and I think bronze is the perfect classic accent. From foil-stamped stationery to the vases in your centerpieces, the possibilities are endless.

What home décor trends are you excited to incorporate in your wedding this year?

Mindy
