The Sydney Opera House is providing the various platform for performing arts, culture, and history. This is an iconic building built on the Bennelong Point, which provides the panoramic view of Sydney Harbour.

The building is an excellent designing work of the 20th millennium that provides many strands of creativity and innovation in both architectural form and structural design. It’s designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon, the building is open on 20 October 1973.

The building consists of several performance places which together are among the busiest performing artistry centres and hosting more than 1,500 shows each year, visited by over 1.2 million people. Shows are displayed by many performing artists, which includes four local art companies: The Australian Ballet, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Opera Australia and The Sydney Theater Company.

Concert Hall: With 2,679 seats, the home of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and utilised by a massive number of other show presenters.

Joan Sutherland Theatre: A proscenium theatre with 1,507 seats,the

Sydney home of Opera Australia and The Australian Ballet.

Drama Theatre: A proscenium theatre with 544 seats, used by the Sydney Theatre Company and other dance and theatrical presenters.

Playhouse: An end-stage theatre with 398 seats.

Studio : A flexible space with 280 permanent seats and the most capacity of 400, depending on configuration.

Utzon Room: A small multi-purpose area for parties, corporate functions and small productions.

Recording Studio

Outdoor Forecourt: the open-air venue with a wide range of configuration options.

The building also has a recording studio, cafes, restaurants, bars and retail outlets. Guided tours are available, including a regular tour of the front-of-house spaces, and an everyday backstage tour that takes guests backstage to see areas reserved for performers and crew members.
