THE PHILIPPINE Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Davao City Chapter installed its new and the 41st set of officers, directors and working committees last Saturday at the Park Inn by Radisson Davao. The new officers took their oath to PICE National President, Dr. Ernesto S. de Castro, PhD.
The 2016 officers who took their oath were Engr. Anacleto V. Calamba, Jr., President; Engr. Cary H. Beatisula, 1st Vice President; Engr. Elmer C. Capili, 2nd Vice President; Engr. Mary Ann R. Oani, Secretary; Engr. Flordeluna J. Juyo, Treasurer; Engr. George Anthony G. Torribio, Auditor; Engr. Jimwell L. Bonguyan, PIO; Engr. Sharon Angelica G. Bonguyan, Business Manager; and Engineers Wilfredo A. Belaye, Arnel T. Bernardino, Gintherese A. Capa, Atty. Joseph Dominic S. Felizarta, Hilario A. Fernandez, Eddie C. Fuentes, Nelson S. Palermo, and Arnel L. Villalba as member of the Board of Directors.
Also present during the installation were the immediate past president, Engr. Angel T. Torrejon for the turn-over, PICE Davao City 2014 President, Engr. Jose D. Gestuveo, Jr. for the charging of the 2016 Officers and Directors, PICE Davao City 2012 President and 2016 PICE National Auditor, Engr. Erdsan Rene S. Suero for the induction of the 2016 working committee heads and members, and Engr. Armando M. Matuguinas to inspire the new Officers and Board.
Engr. Calamba, who works at the Department of Public Works and Highways XI, said in his speech that his administration will focus on leadership excellence and social responsibility. “I will also direct my team to be more productive this year,” Calamba added.
Dr. de Castro on the other hand said his presidency will be devoted to strengthen national membership, promote continuing professional development, establishment of an interactive website, and to embark on community development projects that would empower the people against climate change.
The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) is the lone professional organization of civil engineers in the country accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission, composed of more than 75,000 registered civil engineer-members in 97 local and 8 international chapters and some 46,646 civil engineering student-members in 179 student chapters throughout the country.
