LOCAL bet Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club and Tagaytay Highlands found themselves locked together at third place in the Founders Division after Day 3 of the 11th Philippine Airlines Ladies Interclub played at the Camp John Hay course in Baguio City.

Rancho Palos Verdes and Tagaytay Highlands tallied similar 357 PAL Stableford points trailing behind leader Alabang Country Club (412) and Valley Golf South (396) going to today’s final round. Its 112-point output yesterday came from Sun Ae Kim and Young Ran Kim who had similar 38s while Chon Young Run had 36. Gye Sun Kim’s 33 did not count.

Also seeing action for team Rancho Palos Verdes include Gemma Bukawachi, Jean Gotianse, Ok Hee Park and Christine Powell.

Tagaytay Highlands also had 112 yesterday with Virgina Bote and Farah Imperial both scoring 41 points and 31 from Lilibeth De Villa.

Davao City’s other bets – Davao City Golf Club and Apo Golf and Country Club also found themselves tied at sixth spot in the Sportswriters Division after Day 3.

Davao City Golf and Apo Golf tallied similar 326 PAL Stableford points, lagging behind leader Eagle Ridge (369) along with Camp Aguinaldo Team A (354), Lady Eagles Australia/New Zealand Golfers (333),Camp John Hay (330) and Manila Golf and Country Club (329).

Josephine Jover Vergara led Davao City’s charge yesterday with 38 points while Keseree Hensel Ng and Evelyn Quinsay added similar 34s for a 106 total to tally along its 109-111 output in the previous rounds.  Other members for team Davao City Golf who saw action included Rosalie Antivo, JM Balbuena, Wennie Dixon and Stella Barnes.

Apo Golf and Country Club’s 99 total yesterday came from Maria Rafaela Singson who had 41 points as backed by Imelda “Imee” Garcia (31) and Mereanne Siason (27). Felisa Weckler’s  23 did not count. Also seeing action for team Apo Golf are Rutchi Albers, Ma. Cristina Bandolon,Rachel Danica Nagayo and Roselyn Sara.

Major sponsors of the 72-hole championship include Solar Entertainment Corp., Airbus, Business Mirror, Mareco Broadcasting Network, People Asia and Manila Broadcasting Corp. Other backers are Philippine Daily Inquirer, Fonterra, Mega Fiber, Mastercard, Tanduay Distillers and Zalora.
