1.   Get Into US National Parks for Free for a Year

You can get into US National Parks for free for an entire year and all you need is a 4th grader!  Children under 15 get into National Parks for free any time.  But now, thanks to the President’s Every Kid in a Park initiative, 4th graders can bring their family along for free during the 2015 to 2016 school year.

A 4th Grader Could Be Your Ticket to the Park

Families who are interested will get a free annual pass.  Details on how to get passes have not been released yet, but I’ll let you know when they are!

This is a great excuse to plan a family or school trip to incredible places like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Mount Rushmore.  So get the word out to your friends, relatives, neighbors, and local schools!

September 26 (National Public Lands day)

November 11 (Veterans Day)

5.   Barclays JetBlue Card Coming Soon

Last year, I told folks they might want to sign-up for the AMEX JetBlue card before it was too late.  And now it’s been confirmed, JetBlue has reached a new agreement with Barclays.

There’s still time to apply for the AMEX JetBlue card, which will give you 20,000 points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the 1st 3 months of having the card.  But the card will be converted to a different card toward the end of the year.

Other perks include:

Up to 8 points per $1 you spend on JetBlue flights and vacation packages on JetBlue.com

1 point per $1 you spend on everything else

50% off in-flight purchases like movies, food, and drinks

$50 statement credit each year on JetBlue Getaways vacation packages

Annual fee of $40, waived for the 1st year

Terms and limitations apply

You Can Still Get the AMEX JetBlue Card, but You Will Likely Be

Switched to Another AMEX Card at the End of 2015

If you sign-up for the AMEX JetBlue card, you’ll also be eligible to receive the sign-up bonus on the new Barclays JetBlue card when it becomes available!

Emily and I don’t receive a commission on the AMEX JetBlue card, but we always tell you about the best deals.  While this is NOT 1 of my favorite airline cards, for folks who like JetBlue, this could be a good way to get the sign-up bonus twice!
