I wrote before that you could use Discover card to pay bills with Evolve Money to get 1% cash back.

But now you can NOT use your Discover card with Evolve Money to pay certain bills like:

Mortgages

Car payments

529 savings accounts

Retail store cards (like Kohls, Sears)

Student loans

Folks got an email from Evolve Money about the change.

But you still can use your Discover card to pay other bills like utilities with no fees.

You Can Pay Your Utility Bill With Your Discover Card Through Evolve Money

And in 2015, you’ll be able to use your Visa and MasterCard with Evolve Money.

I hope the same bill payment restrictions aren’t applied to Visa and MasterCard!

Bottom Line

You can no longer use your Discover card with Evolve Money to pay bills like mortgages, car loans, 529 savings accounts, retail store cards, and student loans.

But you can still pay your utilities and other bills without fees using your Discover card to get 1% cash back.

The news isn’t all bad because in 2015 you’ll be able to use your Visa and MasterCard with Evolve Money.
