Fast-Growing Project to Advance Open Source Software Defined Networking Unites in Berlin

BERLIN, Germany--(Marketwired - June 17, 2016) - (OPNFV Summit)

What: The ONOS Project today announces a two-part ONOS and CORD Mini Summit and demo exhibition hosted onsite OPNFV Summit. The morning will feature talks around ONOS and the open source community, application development, enhancements and deployments. The afternoon will FOCus on the architecture of the open reference implementation of CORD (Central Office Re-architected as a Datacenter), built from commodity servers, white-box switches, as well as how open source software defines a general and extensible platform that supports a variety of domains and business units. Two informal coffee breaks planned throughout the day offer attendees the opportunity to chat one-on-one with ONOS and CORD community members to learn more about how to get involved with the rapidly growing and diversifying community. The ONOS Project is a Silver Sponsor of OPNFV Summit.

Who: ONOS Project is an open source member-driven project advancing networks by developing and maintaining a Software-Defined Networking (SDN) OS with scale, high availability, performance, and the right abstractions developers need to create compelling SDN and NFV solutions for Service Providers. CORD is the open source systems platform Launched by the ONOS community for Service Providers that combines Network Function Virtualization (NFV), SDN, and the elasticity of commodity clouds to bring datacenter economics and cloud agility to the Telco Central Office.
