SACRAMENTO, CA, January 04, 2016 /satPRnews.com/ -- On January 19, 2016, the California Cannabis Industry Association and Cal Heritage invite the cannabis industry and interested individuals to the Crest Theatre, 1013 K Street, Sacramento, California, for a full day of informative activities. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. with a Cannabis Policy Architects Roundtable Discussion and culminates in the evening with an industry-unity concert featuring the Sons of Champlin (the band lead, Bill Champlin, was formerly of the band Chicago).

As California moves to implement new cannabis laws and regulations (created by the adoption of medical cannabis legislation in 2015) and examines the likelihood of legal adult-use cannabis in 2016, Cal Heritage considers it imperative to identify and bring together policy experts that work with state legislators and agencies to implement sensibly-crafted regulations.

California Cannabis Policy Architects roundtable discussion panelists:
• Welcoming Remarks Assemblymember Ken Cooley, author of Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act
• Finance‚ Fiona Ma, State Board of Equalization, 2nd District (Roundtable Moderator)
• Legal, Greg Anton, Attorney and Champion of Medical Marijuana Rights
• Statewide Policy, Nate Bradley, Exec. Director, CA Cannabis Industry Assn. (CCIA)
• Agriculture / Water, Chris Carrigan, State Water Resources Control Board (invited)

From 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., the Cannabis Policy Architects and event attendees will attend a joint public hearing of the State Assembly Business and Professions Committee, Assembly Agriculture Committee, and the Assembly Health Committee in room 4202 of the State Capitol. The informational hearing will focus on "Medical Marijuana Regulation: The Plan for Statewide Implementation." and is key to future regulation development.

From 5:00 - 6:30 p.m., the California Cannabis Industry Association PAC will host a cannabis industry reception in downtown Sacramento for interested roundtable discussion attendees. This event requires additional registration; please contact Ben Bradley at ben@cacannabisindustry.org for more information.

Cannabis is a colorful thread woven into the fabric of California. This rich heritage has inspired music, art and culture for generations. In celebration of this legacy, Cal Heritage invites all attendees to return to the Crest Theatre in the evening for a concert with The Sons of Champlin, with special guest Barry "The Fish" Melton. These are seminal musicians of the 1960's "San Francisco Sound." Now that a mature view of cannabis is emerging after decades of drug wars and incarceration, we are fortunate to have them return as a book-end to those earlier times. From Woodstock to the Crest - this is a rare opportunity to celebrate a timely shift in consciousness and promote unity among those in the cannabis industry.

An iconic image by Stanley Mouse has been loaned for the occasion. Mouse is one of the great rock poster artists of the 1960's; his artwork has been featured on countless album covers for the Grateful Dead, Journey and others.

Stop listening to the 'self-proclaimed experts.' The shape and future of the cannabis industry in California begins in Sacramento on January 19, 2016. Come to Sacramento and join the conversation.
