2015 Product Calendar — The Census Bureau has posted anticipated release dates for each regular and recurring statistical product expected to be released in 2015. The products are listed in the Census Bureau's online product calendar, which is updated as needed throughout the year.

American Community Survey
2010-2014 American Community Survey Statistics Release — The American Community Survey five-year statistics, based on data collected from 2010 to 2014, cover all geographic areas regardless of size, down to the block-group level. For the first time, users will be able to compare two nonoverlapping five-year periods (2005-2009 and 2010-2014). The American Community Survey provides a wide range of important statistics about people and housing for every community in the nation. The survey is the only source of local statistics for most of the 40 topics it covers. It produces statistics for language, education, commuting, employment, mortgage status and rent, as well as income, poverty and health insurance. (Scheduled for public release Dec. 3; embargo subscribers can view the statistics beginning Dec. 1.)
The Disability of Veterans — This report uses 2014 American Community Survey data to compare the prevalence of veterans with a functional disability or difficulty with daily living to the prevalence of those with a Department of Veteran Affairs service-connected disability rating. It also explores the extent of overlap between both groups. (Tentatively scheduled for release in December.)

Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates: 2014 — Available for roughly 3,140 counties and nearly 14,000 school districts, these statistics represent the only current, single-year income and poverty statistics available for all counties and school districts. Data are provided on the total number of people, as well as the number of school-age children, and children of all ages, in poverty. (Scheduled for release Dec. 9.)
State Population Estimates: July 1, 2015 — Internet tables and detailed downloadable files will show July 1, 2015, population estimates for the nation, states and Puerto Rico, as well as corresponding annual estimates and components of change since the 2010 Census. (Tentatively scheduled for release Dec. 22.)

Completion of 2012 Economic Census Geographic Area Series: Educational Services —
The 2012 Economic Census concludes the Geographic Area Series for the educational services sector. These include statistics for business schools and computer and management training, technical and trade schools and educational support services. The files provide statistics on the number of establishments, receipts/revenue, payroll, number of employees and other data items by industry. The Geographic Area Series provides this data at a U.S. summary level as well as an economic place level; other geographies included are states, combined statistical areas, metropolitan statistical areas and counties. (Tentatively scheduled for release in December.)
Completion of 2012 Economic Census Geographic Area Series: Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services — The 2012 Economic Census concludes the Geographic Area Series for the administrative and support and waste management and remediation sector. This series includes statistics for office administrative services, investigation and security services and waste collection, treatment and dISPosal. The files provide statistics on the number of establishments, receipts, payroll, number of employees and other data items by industry. The Geographic Area Series provides this data at a U.S. summary level as well as an economic place level; other geographies included are states, combined statistical areas, metropolitan statistical areas and counties. (Tentatively scheduled for release in December.)

This series includes statistics for ambulatory health care services, hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities, and social assistance services. The files provide statistics on the number of establishments, receipts/revenue, payroll, number of employees and other data items by industry. The Geographic Area Series provides this data at a U.S. summary level as well as an economic place level; other geographies included are states, combined statistical areas, metropolitan statistical areas and counties. (Tentatively scheduled for release in December.)
2012 Economic Census Geographic Area Series: Management of Companies and Enterprises — This is a series of national and state level data files on the management of companies and enterprises sector. These include statistics for industries such as offices of bank holding companies and corporate, subsidiary, and regional managing offices and others. The files provide statistics on the number of establishments, revenue, payroll, number of employees and other data items by industry. Statistics are provided for all states and the District of Columbia. (Tentatively scheduled for release in December.)
Quarterly Summary of State and Local Government Tax Revenues: Third Quarter 2015
— The summary provides quarterly estimates of state and local government tax revenue at a national level, as well as detailed tax revenue data for individual states. This report produces three tables: Tables 1 and 2 include income and sales data, and Table 3 provides tax collections by state. (Tentatively scheduled for release in December.)
2012 Economic Census Geographic Area Series — Continuing on a flow basis, this series provides detailed industry statistics by geographic area for establishments of firms with paid employees. Data are shown on the 2012 North American Industry Classification System basis. These data supersede the data shown in the Industry Series and may be superseded by data shown in later publication series for selected sectors. 2012 Economic Census Subject Series— Continuing on a flow basis through June 2016, the subject series reports supplement other products and present tabulations for the U.S. with some state detail. Reports for most sectors include establishment and firm size (including legal form of organization). Miscellaneous subjects reports for the manufacturing sector include general summary, products summary, materials consumed summary and concentration ratios in manufacturing.
Facts for Features
Black History Month: February — To commemorate and celebrate the contributions to our nation made by people of African descent, the Census Bureau presents a collection of demographic and economic statistics about the black community. (Tentatively scheduled for release in December.)
Valentine's Day — To celebrate this holiday, the Census Bureau highlights a range of information including statistics on chocolates, flowers, jewelry and marriage. (Tentatively scheduled for release in December.)

Releasing the 2020 Census Operational Plan to Congress and Our Valued Stakeholders —
On Nov. 3, Census Bureau Director John H. Thompson presented the Census Bureau's operational plan for the 2020 Census to Congress and the public. Thompson reports that in 2020, paper-and-pencil processes that have characterized each census since 1970 will not be used. The operational plan lays out four key areas of innovation that will ultimately deliver $5.2 billion in savings to the American taxpayers.
Another View of the Gender Earnings Gap — In 2014, the female-to-male earnings ratio stood at 0.79, indicating that the median earnings of women who worked full time, year-round was 79 percent of what their male counterparts earned. There is also a considerable gap when focusing on men and women living in the same household. Currently, the median earnings of wives is $12,154, or 33 percent of the median earnings of husbands, $37,363.
Improving Our Nation's Data on Race and Ethnicity — Since the 1970s, the Census Bureau has conducted content tests to research and improve the design and function of different questions, including questions on race and ethnicity. The 2015 National Content Test is helping refine our previous efforts to address race and ethnicity reporting issues and important racial/ethnic community concerns, with the goal of improving question design and data quality for the 2020 Census.
