While ruggedized tablets and laptops serves their purposes in the field, there is nothing like having a full-fledge PC instead. Especially if it comes equipped with a suite of hardware and software to enable efficient networking. So why do you need such a sophisticated machine? Probably not on consumer level, but if you expect to be working in limited workspace, work in multiple locations, or simply need a robust rig to handle your onsite analysis, then ACME Portable’s MiniPAC and NetPAC Portable Workstation are just the rigs for you. Plus, it looks pretty sleek, which is why it has our attention in the first place. Man, if I have the money to drop, I would probably have it in our office too. Maybe that will gives us a reason to venture to CES next year? Perhaps.
Anyways, the MiniPAC is the entry-level model, while the NetPAC is geared towards enterprises. Key features include high-performance RAID controller for the fastest read/write speeds, support for latest networking capturing cards, 4G LTE/3G support, up to 64GB SSD/SAS/SATA drives with RAID support for NetPAC and up to 16TB for MiniPAC, up to four PCIe full-length expansion cards (you can do that with laptops, can you?), support all card interfaces, and latest processing power, courtesy of Intel i7/Dual Xeon processors. The rig is of course, designed for easy transportation, but I think from the lone image above, you can already tell.
Like most commercial application machines, the MiniPAC and NetPAC Portable Workstation are totally customizable to your needs and requirements, ranging from hardware design to custom color and design, OS and/or application, and even private label branding. Not sure how much it will cost, but if you’re real-life Tony Stark equivalent and want one (or a few), you can touch base with ACME Portable for me details.
