*I worked with Red Robin on this post for National Lemonade Day and any opinions about my first experience at Red Robin are 100% my own.

Can we still be friends if I tell you that I just had my first Red Robin experience? It’s true. The kids have been singing “Red Robin – Yum” for years but we had never made the trip. I’ve been missing out on delicious Freckled Lemonade by not going! With National Lemonade Day coming up it was the perfect time to try it too!

Freckled Lemonade — a blend of sweet strawberries and tangy Minute Maid® Lemonade with free bottomless refills — has been Red Robin’s signature beverage for more than 20 years, and is the perfect drink to honor National Lemonade Day.

Red Robin is doing something awesome with their delicious Freckled Lemonade this month! Coming up on National Lemonade Day, Wednesday, August 20th, participating Red Robin restaurants across the U.S. will host lemonade stands. At these Lemonade Stands they will serve Freckled Lemonade samples to guests and collect donations to support Red Robin’s national charity partner, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Guests who donate $5 or more will receive a yellow bracelet to show their support and I personally think this is a great cause!

If you don’t have a Red Robin nearby, or can’t make it out for National Lemonade Day, there are four other ways to donate and join the fight against childhood cancer.

Now that I have your tastebuds craving a Freckled Lemonade, let me take you through more yumminess!

After almost an hour drive (thank you three detours and really crummy interstate traffic) we had arrived at Red Robin, ready to fill our bellies with deliciousness. Going out to eat with the twins, I have to be conscious of family friendly environments and seating. Red Robin had both a fantastic family environment (Little Man quickly noticed the video games at the entrance) and seating at either a booth or a table for our whole family. Once seated we got right to ordering our appetizer, the Chili Cheese Fries! The chili was fantastic and even hubby agreed.

Timing of the appetizer and entrees was perfect. The twins are still working on patience so we always appreciate fast service and great food. We got both!

I ordered the Whiskey River Chicken Wrap and oh my word was it loaded with flavor!

Tween Girl ordered a Red Robin Bacon Cheeseburger and as soon as she tasted it she asked if we could do this every night.

Hubby ordered the Smoke & Pepper Red Robin Burger and was talking about the house-made Smoke & Pepper Ketchup as we went to bed that night. No joke……

Hubby: “That ketchup….there is something about it that makes it awesome.”

Me: “Apparently, you have been talking about it all night.”

Pretty sure in this picture he is showing the burger to Tween Girl and telling her how good the ketchup is. For the 107th time and he has only eaten a 1/4 of the burger.

The twins shared a Grilled Cheese and when it arrived, everyone at the table wanted a bite. It was pretty tasty.

Even though that Grilled Cheese was delish, it didn’t stop Monkey Girl from trying to get a bite of Little Man’s Corn Dog. He didn’t want to share it though so I’m guessing it was pretty darn good too!

Slobber Monster pretty much moved around the booth claiming everyone’s fries. Good thing Red Robin offers bottomless fries!

Red Robin managed to please everyone in our family at the dinner table with their customer service and food. I’ll be honest….even I rarely manage that! We left with full bellies, balloons, and the full intent of returning again soon! Oh, and did I mention how much hubby loved the Smoke & Pepper ketchup?!

Thanks to Red Robin, One Lucky Mom On The Side Reader is going to WIN a $25 Red Robin Gift Card!

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement dedicated to finding cures for all childhood cancers, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $80 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 450 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
