Melbourne’s RMIT Training has announced the opening of a Middle East regional office located in Dubai Academic City, which has been established to provide local support to education partners and customers of RMIT Publishing and RMIT English Worldwide (REW) services.
Education is a top priority for government and local universities in the Middle East and RMIT Training is now better positioned to support this strategy.
The key focus for the office is the delivery of world-class English proficiency programs for individuals and organisations.
This follows a strong reputation for quality English in the Aviation sector. RMIT Training has been delivering Aviation English training and testing services across the Middle East region including Jordan, Algeria, Oman and Qatar through REW for several years.
The RMIT English Language Test for Aviation (RELTA), recognised by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), is one of the preferred tests in the region.
Rachel Holthouse, CEO of RMIT Training, commented on the new office.
“This is a significant step for RMIT Training and reflects the global attitude of the RMIT Group to meet the education needs of students and professionals”, she said.
“We are committed to providing education solutions worldwide and recognise the importance culture and local customs play in doing so.
“This is why we’ve invested in a local office. Having people on the ground is the best way to support our partners.”
The Middle East office allows RMIT Training to deliver quality English and research services coupled with local expertise and experience.
RMIT Training is a wholly owned company of RMIT University and part of the RMIT Group supporting education needs internationally through its Publishing and English language services.
This is the second regional office supporting global activities, following the China office in Beijing, which opened in 2009.
In February 2013, the Victorian Government launched the Arabic version of the Study Melbourne website which will enable students from the Middle East to learn more about Victoria’s broad range of excellent international education options in their own language.
The site provides prospective and current students extensive information on living, studying and working in Victoria.
Study Melbourne offers relevant and up-to-date content on everything from organising visas and accommodation to student support services and things to see and do. Over 7,000 students from the MENA region are enrolled in Victorian education institutes each year.
The Victorian Government has a Business Office located in Dubai which is committed to developing the education market and assisting in the identification of collaborative opportunities.
